Hello and welcome to the Not-so-Average Average Interest Check! I am Average, but I'm not average. Confused yet? I am. But, then again, you'll find that I'm confused ninety percent of the time. Anyway, this is my 1x1 Interest Check, so welcome to it and thank you for reading so far. As you can probably already tell, I get distracted pretty easily, so if I go off-topic at any point, I apologise in advance.

I am an eighteen-year-old student from Scotland, and I have been roleplaying for a good six years or so. I would consider myself as being a fairly open person, but I am not a people-pleaser (meaning that I most likely will not go out on a limb to impress my partner, and nor will I flatter you to the point of kissing your ass. Sorrynotsorry.). That brings me nicely onto my next little point: I swear like a sailor. It's pretty unladylike, and at times it can be inappropriate, but most of the time I cuss to lighten the mood - I'm not ashamed of it, because most people do like a good swear every once in a while, I'm just forewarning anyone that's sensitive to the F-word or whatever that I'm not a stranger to using them.

I would say that I'm a high-casual to advanced roleplayer - my average post tends to consist of four to five non-speech paragraphs. I am not a huge fan of intense plot development OOC, and I find that I much prefer diving straight into the writing once setting and characters have been established. When it comes to characters themselves, I'm open to playing any type as long as they are realistic and in-depth, and I expect the same from you. One of my biggest pet peeves is someone wanting to roleplay, yet starting off with 'I only play female characters and yours have to be male'. Yes, I understand that it is often a comfort thing, but please don't give me restrictions when it comes to my characters. I will most likely tell you to p*ss off. Politely, of course.

Now, I know most people skip this bit so I'll try to keep it short and sweet. I'm requesting that no one posts in this thread just for the sake of neatness. If you do post below, there is pretty much no chance of my roleplaying with you. Not only because I probably won't see your reply, but also because you've either not taken the time to fully read this, or you've just decided to ignore me completely.

Please don't expect me to be super-duper happy all the time. Sometimes I'll be enthusiastic about writing and super eager to share my ideas, but other times I'll have little to no motivation to write. In addition to that, please respect the fact that I have a life outside of the Guild - I am a part-time swimming coach and full-time student; my replies may be slightly slower than average, but I will make sure to let you know if I will be absent for any extended period of time.

I am not overly obsessive about the age of my partner, as long as you are 18 or over if you're interested in exploring mature themes. I myself have pretty much no limits, excluding the obvious like rape and weird stuff like incest, as long as it contributes to the plot. I love exploring darker aspects of writing, but I have no problem with my partner not being comfortable with stuff like that.

I shall conclude with my last, and most important rule: communication. If you are not comfortable with something, if you are losing interest, or if something I said doesn't sit well with you, tell me. There have been countless occasions in which I have roleplayed quite well with someone, and then they just dropped off of the edge of the earth. Even worse, I've had partners that completely cut off communication with me but remained active around the site I had been roleplaying on. Don't do it.

Jesus, that's a lot of writing. Here, I'll show you a gif from one of my favourite episodes of TV in general...I'm not even a huge Doctor Who fan, I just found this particular episode beautiful and, embarrassingly enough, I cried my eyes out:

It's the episode named 'Vincent and the Doctor' if you want to check it out

Now that you've seen that, let's talk about genres! Below, I have compiled a list of genres that I like. Of course, as I have mentioned before, I am open to anything, really. So hit me up even if you have something in mind that's not on the list. The only thing I'm not fond of is sci-fi; I find it boring, and too complicated for my tastes.

- Survival; something that I have not had a chance to properly explore yet. Whether our characters are stuck on a desert island, or it's the post-apocalyptic type, I'm up for it.

- Fantasy; particularly historical fantasy, I have a few ideas regarding this genre - so hit me up about those.

- Romance; I am a big fan of romance as long as it happens naturally. When it's forced, or our characters have no chemistry, I'm just not interested. However, if you're wanting to purposefully play the awkward relationship-thing, like through an arranged marriage or something, then that's cool.

- Crime; this is more of a sub-genre for me, but it is certainly something that has caught my eye recently.

- Slice of Life; not something I would typically go for - but it has the potential for a good story, I think. You'd have to really convince me with this genre, but I'll give it a shot.

I'm going to say this right from the start: I am crap at playing canon characters. I much prefer to focus on the world of the fandom rather than the characters themselves. However, there are a few fandoms that I am not typically against playing canon characters in, which I will highlight in blue.

- A Song of Ice and Fire / Game of Thrones; I am not 100% up-to-date with the books, but I am a huge fan of the television show.

- The Great Gatsby; on a broader scale for those not familiar with the movie or book, 1920's America. It is a world that I would love to write about.

- Gosspit Girl; go ahead and judge me, but you’re lying if you’ve never wished you could be an upper east-sider who’s life If full of parties and gossip sites and glorious drama.

- Shameless; this is the kind of slice-of-life I would love. Also it's the US version I'm referring to, not the British one. one of the very few TV shows in which the US version is better

- Mad Max; a fantastic post-apocalyptic setting, I think, and there is a wide range of directions that the roleplay could go in with this fandom.

- Legend; to be perfectly honest, I’m not that interested in the plot of this movie or what actually happened in real life events, I just want someone to play Tom Hardy as a mob boss with my character xD

This is still a work in progress, hence the reason why it's a hot mess, but I wanted to post it now before the end of the day. If you're already interested, PM me any ideas or whatever... Thanks for reading!

@lovely complex, @Universorum, @Silent Observer heyyy I've never really been part of a forum roleplay here before but I had to apply for this one- it looks so good. Hopefully she's okay <3
