Gotta love people suddenly becoming apolitical when someone is doing something they approve of.

Looking good, Byrd.

That's it... more or less. Or less.
Agent Graves
Phillip Graves, 58 (b. 1910)

Active since approximately 1945

Concept

Essentially, I'm doing a 60's version of 100 Bullets. The early structure is, to wit "Graves approaching someone who has been a victim of a terrible wrong. Graves gives them the opportunity to take revenge by providing a handgun, 100 bullets, and documentation about the primary target responsible for their woes. He informs the candidate the bullets are completely untraceable by any law enforcement investigation, and as soon as they are found at any crime scene, investigations will immediately cease." Graves will serve as a catalyst, supporting character, and maybe even an atagonist to characters and stories that are loosely connected. Interwoven through Graves and these characters are a story of a secret society that lies at the heart of America, a country that is under duress from the tumult of the late 60's. It is crime, it is politics, it is espionage and intrigue, it is history, and it is all blended together to make something very much me.

Nation Sheet

Name of Nation: The Democratic Nation of Jackson

Flag:

Government Structure: Jackson is a true democracy. All members of the territory vote in all matters. An official head of state is the Commander in Chief of the Democrats known as the Party Leader. The Party Leader serves as executive and enforces the laws of the state, but he can make no executive action without a 2/3rds majority of the people of Jackson.

Leader(s): Andrew Jackson McCullough

Culture: Jackson is an egalitarian haven for those looking to be free. Its culture is one of Republican ideals, a mostly agrarian society that sprung up in the years since the collapse of the world. In Jackson a man is free to be left alone and live in peace from interference from outside forces if he wishes. But on the flip side of that is a a tight-knit community that must look after its own and watch each other's backs in the name of survival. While Andrew Jackson McCullough is a nominal head of state, he has no real power outside of martial leadership. The nation is an ideal Jeffersonian Democracy where the power is invested in the people.

Demographics: 500 total population. Roughly 60% are white, 20% are black, and the remaining 10% are made up of Hispanic, Asian, and other races.

Nation History:

The Democratic Nation of Jackson is a new nation. It is only ten years old and founded by the man known as Andrew Jackson McCullough. His backstory is shrouded in myth, with some saying he is a former military officer that deserted his men in Georgia, while others think he is a bastard son of the King of Dixie.

Andrew Jackson McCullough was said to have destroyed a raider camp on the banks of the Mississippi single-handily. It was on the ashes of that camp that the Nation was born. Taking in rejects, outsiders, and even the odd runaway slave turned the small community into a patchwork nation that keeps to itself and trades with merchants on the river. It is surrounded on all sides by the unfriendly wilds, raiders, and wild beasts. Further through the wilds are the much larger nations that may have designs on Jackson and its spot on the Mississippi. Despite all the hardships, the Nation survives.

Description of Economy: Cottage industry is primarily how things are made. And currency is the barter system.

Description of Military:

The Jackson's military service is the Democratic Party, a militia group made up of those that can and are willing to serve. The Party is split into several different sub-units and platoons. Numbers wise it ranges around 200 to maybe 250, and it is made up of all the able-bodied men, woman, and children above the age of thirteen who can fight.
Yep.
