While online responsibilities are to be taken seriously, real life always has to come first. It's tough striking a balance but it's necessary for one's own sanity.

The OOC is up but I still have a bit of tweaking to do, I'll be adjusting the character sheet and adding a timeline of events but for now, this is probably enough for you guys to work with. I should be back tonight or tomorrow afternoon to fiddle some more. Thanks for being patient with me.

Summary: Set in the year 2026, our technology has drastically changed. Now no one gets by without a cell phone. It is their link to everything in their life. Everything is digital and writing by hand has been outdated. Everyone not only has a cell phone, but it's also linked to world wide wi-fi. People use their cell phones to pick outfits, purchase clothes, food, and the like. And with a touch of a button, they have anything they want. They also use their cell phones to communicate with friends, listen to music and find an escape. Those are things we're familiar with right now in 2014. The big difference between now and then is that without a cell phone, a person will die.

Think of the cell phone as a containment for your soul. It's charged by your own life force.

Another thing that is different about the cell phones of 2026 is that they play music but this music is different, it can take people into a digital realm called the DgtWld. (Short for Digital World) You can travel across the world and go shopping, or be taken to a sunset overlooking the Caribbean. The way this is done, is by extracting your mental awareness and relocating it elsewhere while still keeping your body bound to your current relation. Music plays a big part in everyone's life and almost everyone is immersed in it when not working or going to school.

Now with such technological advances, hackers have gotten more chances to attack people with everyone on one wi-fi. Because of this, the government has passed a secret underground project and has developed an application downloadable to certain people. This application allows the user to go completely into the DgtWld: mind, body and soul. These people are called Correctors who fend off the hackers and viruses that plague the DgtWld and threaten people's lives and well being. Correctors are hand selected by the government in the region, of course each country has only a select amount of Correctors who all fight for one cause and work together when necessary.

Correctors have an expiration date though. They are only used to help fight for about 8 years. Some are pulled off earlier due to health issues. Correctors are recruited at age 17 usually for the sake of teens being young and tend to do well in physical situations. They are placed under the wing of Correctors who are at least 2 years their superior and are trained by them for a year before being assigned a permanent team somewhere in the UK. Correctors are not allowed to tell normal civilians that they are Correctors as the general population does not know of the project that passed.

RP Starting Point and Closing Comments: We will be playing characters who are not 17, but around the age of 21 to 22 year olds. Some may be in university or having other part time jobs but their main and best source of income in being a Corrector. Consider this a mix of Code LYOKO, Corrector Yui, Madoka Magica and Sailor Moon, dot hack or something. You can be male or female. And a big focus will be your cell phone, character development and a darker plot which I have planned already. So any antagonists will be mine to play as GM. After a player has gone through a full "Chapter" of the RP, they have the option to add on other characters who may be antagonists.

Timeline of events leading up to the RP:

Corrector Info: Correctors are humans anywhere from age 17 to 25. They have been approached secretly by their Government usually by phone call, then an email. In the email, they are told to go to their local Gvn Office and once there, they are told of their new job. Refusal is not an option due to the perks that come along with being a Corrector. They are paid well for their services and are not allowed to tell anyone of what they do behind the scenes. They are given applications which cannot be duplicated (read: hacked) and are monitored by the Government.

These applications allow the user to transform into a digital being/avatar and enter the DgtWld fully. They give the Corrector powers to fend off warring viruses and hackers. These applications also give the Corrector tasks and other things to do. The powers Correctors are given can be downloaded by the application's store depending on their years in service. The Government wanted the Corrector to have limited yet customizable weapons in the beginning. The application is called Cnnt (Connect) and it is always scanning the DgtWld for any signs of dismay. Notifications are sent to the cell phone of the user and once they all respond, they must sync up to a computer or cell phone and get to work.

Fighting: I am leaving this a bit open in some manners. I do not intend this to be a fighting roleplay nor do I want us to be going into battle every other page. Weapons and abilities will be up to the user. As stated above, different skills can be downloaded to one's user if you're a Corrector. However what you can do is limited upon how long you've been a Corrector and how well you do your job. Most skills come from their weapon of choice. For example, choosing a katana would grant the user excellent speed and agility with their weapon which would allow them to be very offensive. But then their defense and endurance may then suffer. If a Corrector choose a bow and arrow as a prominent weapon, they would have nice long range attacks. It is possible to have no weapon and to use your fists. Your weapons are digital and can be reproduced within your body's limits. For example you could wield two katana at once but you couldn't use more than one bow and arrow. And if you're injured, regenerating a weapon is harder to do, due to mental or physical strain. But if your weapon breaks or falls into the abyss, you can easily conjure up another weapon with your mind. Your weapons are can be enhanced with elemental powers and may reflect a futuristic feel or something reflecting that of say fantasy lore. It's up to you. Keep it within reason though.

Microchips: Also known as MChips. Everyone has a MChip in the back of their neck. These are linked and synced up to your cell phone, laptop etc. Without a MChip present, you die. The MChip helps regulate your body and health. It helps you connect directly to the internet. It is your lifeline. MChips are implanted right at birth. They store everyone, they're your personal backup. It keeps track of passwords, information, etc. It's your memory bank for everything. Should you wish to listen to music, it allows you to do so without even needing headphones, transmitting music directly to your brain without disturbing anyone around it. It allows you to close your eyes and connect to a new destination across the ocean when you're stuck at the office. Your MChip is your link to living.

Threats: Pretty self explanatory but why not? Threats of 2026 are much more serious. The stealing of one's identity and chip are much more of a concern than ever. Hackers are making more tough digital threats known as Vs (viruses) that take the form of monsters in the DgtWld which seek out people and can kill them if they're linked by sending them corrupt information which could reach their Mchip and end their life undetected. People do have personal security (like Norton Anti-Virus) but hackers are finding ways to get around it and steal information and even blackmail people. If you can think of a crime, it's happening. Even murders.

The DgtWld: The Digital World is the world wide wi-fi network that was first established in late 2012. Users log in with their cell phone and microchip. They use music and can take their minds to other areas of the world. Humans cannot pull their real bodies into the DgtWld unless they have some sort of virus that is endangering them. The DgtWld is where you access the internet with your phone or laptop's web browser. There are virtual goggles and headphones made for people who want a more personalized experience when using the DgtWld. Normal people (non Correctors) cannot customize any sort of avatar in the DgtWld clearly since their real body remains in their world. Like in the office or at home for example. Also, Correctors give themselves an alias to go by so that hackers won't know their name, though if hackers wanted to, they could try to break into the Gvm (Government) computers and find out Correctors' identities. The point of the alias is to just not use real names. Consider it a username.

Phones and Music: Your cell phone is your link to your life. Your music sets the tone of your life. You can listen to pretty much anything for free in the year 2021 since you pay a music tax yearly that covers the cost already. Your phone texts, browses the web on the go, calls people, records video, and does much more. Without your phone, you cannot access your MChip, phones are replaceable while MChips aren't but the phones are not cheap by any means.

Collisions: Known as incidents in the DgtWld. From Cnnt, Correctors are alerted to Collisions in the DgtWld depending on the the threat mentioned above.

Debris: What damage is done by hackers and viruses. Debris range from damage done to the DgtWld, injuries sustained in battle, as well as fragments of other raw data.

Closing Comments: Below is the CS, please follow it to a t. This is about character development and having fun as well as exploring technology. I will be playing one to two roles, one or two will be the antagonists of our first large plot. And we will be roleplaying in chapters. Chapter One will be our characters meeting up and facing a new danger. Our story will begin in London. Our characters will be friends having worked together for four years (give or take) as Correctors. They should not be tech savvy, nor should they have an open interest in technology. From the Uk Gvn's point of view, Correctors are tools to dispatch justice, not meant to be smart or clever. Should your character have a hobby related to technology, it should be kept a secret from the Gvn.

CHAPTER ONE:

-
Bump.
It's such a blessing when you finally have time to game, sucks it has to be when the weather is finally getting good. First world problems ehhh.
RP Premise:

Everyone at the Academy is getting ready for summer vacation. People are gearing up to study for their final exams but you and your friends have already done enough studying for one lifetime so over the weekend you all decide to go on a camping trip to try to rest your minds. Everyone is assigned a different thing to bring. Booze? Cigarettes? Food? After all the tasks have been divided, you part ways and agree to meet at Mount Wildwood. There's the shrine but you don't pay it any mind. You know there are caves and a waterfall to explore. Sure, as a kid, you stayed on the designated path but you're older now and bolder too, so you and your college friends are eager to do more than just behave during the trip.

The next morning, you all meet up and go into the wilderness to find a place to make camp. You can't help but feel though, like you're being watched. But by who? No one's really around the area. Soon enough everyone decides upon a place to set up camp for the next few days. Everyone heads to the river and for the rest of the day, everyone's drinking and snacking, forgetting about the tests and jobs they left behind. As everyone packs up to head back to camp, an old wooden box is spotted. Was it there before? Someone bets it's a severed hand but upon expectation, it's a bunch of watches.

Pretty lame.

Someone decides to put one on. After dusting it off, it seems it's more complex than any other watch that you've all seen. With the press of a button, the top lid of the watch springs up and a dim purple glow emits. The wearing holds up the watch to look through the lens and sees something beginning to take shape! It's...it's...it's a white dog looking thing with white swirls and claws. No one else sees it but when they finally put on the watch and activate it, they see it too. What is it? Whatever the watches are for, you decide they could make things pretty interesting.

Someone suggests heading over to Blossom Heights to ask the old guy who owns Timers and More if he knows what the watch's deal is. It's decided then. The trip is cut short as everyone scrambles to pack up and head down the mountain as the sun begins to set. Once it does, there's a distinct chill in the air. Before you make it down to the parking lot, a red eerie mist fills the pathway and you begin to hear loud thumping noises. You all look to see a large demon, nearly four stories tall, bounding for you.

The watches all begin to act crazy. Everyone begins running down the hill at full sprint. Stray items are being left behind in haste as you all climb into your cars and speed off, the large demon still running after you. After crossing the bridge into Blossom Heights, the mist fades and soon the heart rates even out. You all find Timers and More and to your surprise, the man says that the mysterious watches can let the user see demons all around them. He says you can befriend them and use them to fight or to solve life's annoying problems.

Maybe you can find a smart one to ace your finals?

RP Title: Chasing Demons in the Summer sun

GM Notes:

Hello. This is based off of Yokai Watch however I will be feeding you all core information so that you don't have to know the series (anime/game) and I will also be tweaking certain things to suit a roleplay setting. I know you guys have school or work and I've got my own offline responsibilities as well, that said, I expect us to communicate on a fairly regular/reliable basis.

If you're interested, post here and let me know. I am going to assume when making the OOC though, that no one knows the franchise so I'll try to be as detailed as possible with terminology and stuff. I won't make an OOC unless I get a few hands in the air though. Also, characters will be college age, and I would like an even balance of males and females, with different personalities and assets. Just remember though, your character shouldn't be a jerk or a loner, this is a group of friends who know each other already.

RP Tone:

This is meant to be a fun adventure. At the core, this roleplay is about friendship, family and exploration. This will call for slice of life and I know many people rage against that. Let me just suggest how the RP will look though these all go hand in hand and tend to overlap:

20% Fighting/Combat

35% Slice of Life (going to school, spending time at home, doing homework, working part time, going to the park etc)

45% Exploration (finding demons, roaming, helping people/taking quests)

Again, at the end of the day this is about us and our characters having fun. We're not trying to make the most powerful squad of demons. If your character is though, that's fine. But as the group's goal as a whole, there should be fun involved. Think whimsy and charm. That is not to say, nothing bad will happen in this story. Oh no. There is danger, it lurks and it watches you very closely. There also bad demons, meddling ones that can ruin people's lives. It's up to our gang to make sure such negative events, don't happen too often.
GM Introduction:

Hello all. I do have another group RP but it's agonizingly sluggish right now so I want another pet project. This time however, I will be limiting the size and strictly enforcing it. Below, you will find a few positions which are free for the taking, however this isn't first come, first serve. I will accept multiple applications for each role and will pick between them. If you're the only applicant, then I guess it's your, provided you're still approved with your sheet.

Now while this says it's inspired by F.E Fates Revelation, you don't have to have played it/finished it to join our ranks. The beauty of finding inspiration is that you can take what you want but add your own spin, which I intend to do as our adventure progresses. If you have had some experience with the games, you may have an advantage but I'm not taking every character class and plot twist with me, so don't feel too comfortable or relaxed either. It's my job as GM to plan for events and interactions but it's the players who make things happen. So nothing is really set in stone.

Also, you need to anticipate death, injury and defeat. Not every battle will leave you unscathed. And characters may die, if yours is killed, you are encouraged to rejoin with another character. While I want to keep this a very contained group, I do want us to add new roles and maybe have others sit out. Maybe we have a lot of people in our group but for each quest, only a few are able to go. Dynamics are meant to be challenged and altered. So if you want to submit five characters but focus on one or two from time to time, you're welcome to do so.

General Premise:

Two kingdoms are at war with one another, and have been for roughly seven years though even such a short while ago, not many can recall what actually broke the peace. Both kingdoms are powerful and have plenty of allies. And both kingdoms have folks who want to rebel and fight for the opposing side. Unrest is an everyday feeling and many cities and towns are becoming new battlegrounds for the two kingdoms and their armies. After fighting for so long, the lands are becoming wastelands. Food is becoming scarce and so is the once flourishing population of the land.

Enter a group who knows where the true enemy lies. This group has been recently formed with those from both kingdoms. This group is led by a mysterious set of twins who claim the real enemy is the demon controlling the two rulers of each kingdom. These two twins have seen such destruction before and want to help bring peace to the land before all hope is truly lost. Together, they've convinced only a handful of people to fight for the innocent and to bring down the invisible hands which control the two kingdoms' fate.

We will be starting with our characters already companions. How your character was convinced is up to you. If your character comes with a sibling, retainer, servant, pet, etc, that is fine but you must include another sheet for it as well. I will be the two twins who hail from another world where the two demons have already ruined with their eternal rivalry. Our group will have a sanctuary where we will go to regroup, tend to our wounds, etc. As a note, there will be slice of life and action. There will also be a lot of travel and saving people, so don't go into this thinking it's all action or it's going to be boring. We should have a mix, ideally.

Hoshido will be a lively kingdom full of life and energy. Nohr will be a strict kingdom, will tough defenses. Both kingdoms are full of pride and tricky fighters. More information will follow in the OOC but for the most part, I won't be fleshing that out too much if I can help it. So feel free to improvise if you'd like.

Characters:

Sibling 1 From Hoshido - An older female, energetic, happy soul who hates conflict. Taken by me.

Sibling 2 From Hoshido - A younger male stubborn, passionate soul who isn't afraid to speak up. Taken by DF

Sibling 3 From Nohr - An older male, reserved, intelligent soul who likes to think before speaking. Taken by Grey.

Sibling 4 From Nohr - A younger female, gentle, charming soul who seems capable of accomplishing anything. Taken by BD.

The gender and ages are up to you, as well as their talent. Are they good with a sword, a bow, a spell book, shuriken, staff, etc? We won't be doing stats or anything but it will be good to have a balance in terms of their capabilities. Right now I probably won't hand out an application, I'm just seeing if I have some people interested. I won't need all four spots to be filled for us to start but I will want at least two people (so a 1x1x1 of sorts). The main reason I have for outlining the general characters above is to ensure we don't have mismatched people or a heavy hand of the same type of character. I'm tired of the loner types or the sarcastic types personally.

So if you're interested in one or two characters, that's great. Let me know by posting though, I can't read minds, let alone any over the internet! By the way, I am looking for people who can post 1-3 times a week. Since this could be a small roleplay, I want things to move a little quicker than just 1-2 posts a month. So the less people we have to wait on, the better I think things should move.

OOC is up!

- - A small group of strangers spread across a fantasy realm, all stumble across pods which they have never seen before. In their fantasy world, things are carefully handcrafted out of tempered iron and steel, wood and clay. Water is fresh and food is plentiful. Their world seems free of danger, never cursed to endure the struggle of war or strife. But these sleek pods still call out to the group of strangers who step inside, invited by an invisible force.

There is a mage, perhaps even two. There is a princess, a knight and even an archer. All of these strangers have one common thirst: adventure.

Once inside the strange pods, they are all flown to a modest sized space ship and are put into stasis. Many years pass until they are able to awaken. It is upon their reawakening that they see their world has been destroyed, ravaged by some unknown force or even alien army. The group of strangers must combine their forces together as they travel the universe, trying to find answers and another home.

GM Notes: So the basic idea is putting pure fantasy crafted characters in a pure science fiction setting. Magic and the like will still work if a character uses it. These characters will take on roles that a normal crew would such as the captain, second in command, medical officer, etc. I think this to be more fun than serious despite the parameters being set so firmly in terms of the setting and characters. The two genres are different but I think would play well together. The age range I am envisioning are those in their mid to late twenties or even early thrities, so if you're thinking of playing a child or teenager, this isn't the best RP for you. I may take on a co-GM who would get a perk when crafting their character, like an extra weapon or special trait that I'd otherwise find too cliche or not fair to the rest of the cast. A co-GM would help keep things moving should I be too busy so if anyone is interested in that, let me know. And if anyone is interested in this, let me know too! My interest in both genres hasn't been combined like this so I'm hoping it's interesting to others.
Glad to hear it. Finally got my final grades, passed em all so I should have my diploma in about a month or so. Phew. In the meantime it's applying for jobs and taking an online training course. The OOC will be up by tomorrow night, keep those character ideas rolling around though. I'll try to be as brief but as informative as possible!

ME:A has been a fun distraction ahaha.

Life happens, I'm aware. I had to assume the silence meant either life got the better of you or you weren't interested. I'm sorry things got so hectic for you.
Sorry, Mass Effect Andromeda stole me away for a bit there. But I finally got my grades back and I passed all the classes which is such a huge weight off my shoulders!
