And back I am. Exhausted, certainly, and may need a while for that to wear off, but I'm once more here to read and even write!

There's a lot of backlog here on my end. I'm trying my best to lessen it, but replies might be less frequent for a time. A welcome change from the nothing doing I went through though! Thanks partners!

Bio

I suppose it is about time for me to copypaste fill in some information about myself over here just as well. Only took me a few years to getting around to do it.

I am a married individual in my twenties from the country some people dare claim does not exist. The Finland conspiracy is an old joke, you can stop with it now. Not a native speaker of the English language by any means, though I did begin studying it exceptionally early for our country's standards. I suppose it was some sort of a test case. With that out of the way though, what more should I be saying here...
  • I like being nice to people. If one needs to ask why, well that alone is reason enough.
  • I play and Dungeon Master Dungeons and Dragons, both offline and in the past also over here.
  • I enjoy OOC chatter, be it planning the RP or a more casual exchange (not that RP'ing is that serious). I can make do without, but don't be afraid to talk to me.
  • Whatever the case, I'm here to have fun and hone my writing abilities!
I do think that should about cover it, yes.

Thanks for stopping by I suppose! I do also have a Discord account, but I prefer to start anything RP related on the site. At least with people I don't know from the past, that is! But hey, now if you are a longer time contact of mine and happened to read this, now you know and can ask!

I have finally found the time I was looking for. I hope my introduction post is acceptable?
Jim stood in the line with the rest of the S-SWAT underlings. The 34 year old war veteran had his opinions on giving the lead to someone who had not seen a warzone as far as he could tell, let alone fought the supernatural on one, but it was not like a soldier would refuse orders from the bigger shots. The worst thing about coming here had to be the fact that they had not allowed him to take his dog to the workplace, he hadn't spent a day apart from Findlay since he got him.

Just before their chief got to introducing themselves to each other and the department the phone rang and she was off to answer it. It didn't take long from Jim to add one and one together and understand that their first mission would be firing off really soon. He wondered what the situation was like as the phone call progressed and at the end was rewarded for his patience with the information he sought: Warehouse of zombies. Indoors locale, slow opposition. A shame there would likely be tight corners the squad could be surprised from. They would need to act carefully.

Like all the others, Jim made his way to his equipment. This would be a mission that suited his more mobile approach. He carefully donned his Trooper class armour, checked that his submachinegun was ready to go and pressed his Glock into the holster. He had always hated the balaclavas, but threw it on nevertheless. The taser, a couple of stingers, few portable smoke creation tubes and the medic's arsenal could all be found on his belt and he was ready to go.

"Raiders roll", he muttered to himself as he jogged to the vehicle that they would use to make their way to the AO. As he sat down, he rubbed his gloved fingers against the ECAS emblem on his shoulder. Just like the days of old... if a bit different equipment and there would most likely be no humans trying to kill you in addition to the walking dead. He'd have to remember to put the Hollow Points into use, they had been the best for this kind of thing back in the day.
@Bishop
I am afraid you missed the final call. I am aware giving a one day warning may have been a little strict, but as things are now I will have to reject your character.
@Lord of Evil
Nope, Derrick is a different cell. Little something like this:
[L][ ][ ][ ]...
[ ][D][ ][ ]...
Where L is the ladies and D is Derrick.
Yup, as things are now there is nothing I need to add. Go on for a little while longer people.
@Dusksong
The sound is coming from somewhere along the hallway. The cells your characters are in are in relatively good shape, so prying things away without sufficient tools will be nearly impossible.
Okay, I seem to be failing all of my timetables this weekend. Let's hope I find the time to post before Tuesday.

Game has been launched. Begin your daring escape!
It is usually a difficult task to exactly determine the point where everything goes south, but everyone always has their theories. In situations like this, some blame themselves, some their allies, some don't care either way and instead focus on the fact that things simply went wrong. In their waking moments, our heroes undoubtedly had some of these thoughts cross their mind, but would soon realise that there were more important things to think of. Such as where they were and how to get out of there.

While Mistletoe and Kenza found themselves in the same room, Derrick was separated from them by two sets of iron bars and a roughly 45 degree angle. They seemed to be in some old dungeon cell block, at least judging by the aforementioned iron bars, the stone walls that separated the cells and the smell of still and damp air. From the ladies cell, the only door in sight was directly to the right after the cell door, which would make it on left and some distance away from the male party members point of view. Most of the other cells seemed to be dysfunctional with doors missing, bars nearly broken, collapsed walls or other reasons, but further away from the presumed door out stood one more cell that seemed to be in good shape.

It was rather dark here with no natural sources of light, so the (already dying) oil lantern next to the door and some unknown source further down the hallway were their only sources of illumination. With little else to push back the darkness, the atmosphere was quite threatening. This was not helped by the fact Mistletoe found her right shoulder to be dislocated and her left wrist had a chain wrapped around it. Probably payback from the few successful shots she had got in while they were still in the fight. Derrick found his left leg hurting from a few puncture wounds, but nothing too deep. They were roughly as apart as Wolfwing's fingers were, so that was probably the source for that. Kenza found herself with no visible injuries, but her upper back hurt as if she had fallen badly. Perhaps from being tossed? In addition to these, all of them had a splitting headache.

None of the hunters had their equipment and on a quick look neither cell held anything as potent for fighting. No other signs of life were to be seen right now, but judging by how they were here alive and the creature had knocked them out for transport and even left some light in here, it wasn't too far fetched to assume it might come check up on them at some point. The steady sound of dripping water reminded our hunters of time passing by. What would they do?
