Stella

After putting away her things and getting acquainted with the room. Stella figures she shouldn't just stay put. This is a good time to survey her roommates. After all, she will be spending quite some time around them. Leaving the room she makes her way to where the others are conversing. Not wanting to seem too eager, she stands off to the side. Watching from a comfortable distance.

Slight twitching spreads across her face. Morbid dreams of the attack play in her mind. Stella is slumped against a wall corner, not the most comfortable sleeping position but she doesn't trust laying on the floor. "Wake up everyone! It's time to wake up! Your dorms are now complete and have been assigned. Please head to the student information desk to receive your room key." echoes through the room. She jerks awake. Feeling a strange sensation she looks down noticing her hand is tightly gripping her brooch. It's in the shape of the Corcelle family insignia. Stella lets go looking at the imprints left on her hand. She stands, brushing herself off and swiftly makes her way to the reception area.

On her way there, Stella makes quick glances at the other students. Back home she was taught to be aware of your surroundings and any potential enemies. Of course, she's not there to cause trouble. Her main goal is to avenge her kingdom and nothing must come in the way of that. She doesn't like to put her trust into many people, but she's not against having allies. Surely some of her classmates could be an asset for the cause.

After waiting in the line for some time she makes it the desk. An elf stands before her, obviously not wanting to be there. Stella doesn't blame her, this seems to be a very mindnumbing task. "Name, class, and race." Says the elf. "Stella Corcelle. Elementalist. Demon." Stella answers. The elf looks at a list of names and rooms, "Floor K, room 2." the elf hands Stella the key. "Thank you." Stella garbs the key, not sure if the elf acknowledged her thanks.

The elevator has a more modern design than she's used to. Her kingdom was advanced but still kept a lot of classical elements in the architecture. Leaving the elevator and walking a few steps down the hallway, she uses both her card and the facial recognition device to enter her dorm. Other students have already arrived. Not wanting to chat, she makes her way to one of the rooms.

"I would be gladder still if lightning had never been a card on the table," Nodah said tilting his head. Desdemona could agree that the lightning was a bit extreme, but she knew it would be end the battle. "I had not known creatures summoned from the grave could conjure lightning. I do wonder though, if the barrier were indeed what whipped your serpent's tail. With a heart so full of passion to scale to the top, would the absence of a barrier have deterred you or stayed your hand?" he continues.

“Necromancers are full of surprises.” Desdemona smirked, “Even without the barrier I would’ve fought the same way.”

A familiar voice caught Desdemona’s attention, it was Nodah reaching out his hand, "How fares your cut?" he asked while she examined the patterns on his skin. Opening the palm of her hand, the abrasion stopped bleeding “This is nothing.” Desdemona replies. “He’s probably in more pain than me.” she cringed at the thought of being struck by lightning, “You should be glad the barrier prevented fatal wounds.” Desdemona adds.

As Nodah’s ounce of energy finally depleted, Desdemona smirked in the realization of her victory. “Looks like I win-” the moment of triumph quickly fleeted as she experienced the consequence of her magic. The serpent abruptly dissolved into particles as Desdemona’s vision began to blur. Almost collapsing to the floor, she managed to stay balanced. “Damn, I overdid it.” Desdemona thought as she looked back at Nodah. The protective barrier prevented any fatal injuries, so there was nothing dead in the room for her to replenish energy with. Her only option was to find a place to rest.

Heading towards the exit she slightly turned her head to the side, “I wouldn’t mind fighting you again sometime; I had fun.” Desdemona says unsure if Nodah could hear her or not. Returning to the training hall, she made sure to not let her exhaustion show. Desdemona sat on a bench hoping to recover as much strength as she could before the next battle.

Nodah’s dagger was zooming towards the snake. Desdemona caught it leaving a cut on her hand. A hiss escaped the creature’s mouth as it sensed her injury. She moved the knife to the opposite hand while the snake curled its body around her arm, eventually licking the graze. Absorbing the energy from Desdemona’s blood, the serpent’s scales gained a dark aura and the electric surges amplified. Whipping its tail to the ground, currents of intense lightning rippled across the floor rapidly approaching Nodah.

Desdemona’s kick had brought Nodah to the ground, but he reacted too fast for her to do anything else. Standing up, he pinned Desdemona’s feet to the floor. She figured she had enough strength to move against the gravitational pull, but her speed would decrease dramatically. “You will forgive me, I enjoy my duels without hand-to-hand combat, and twice already have you lunged for me.” Nodah says.

Stuck in that spot, Desdemona wondered was there really no way to beat him in close combat. If possible, it would require a lot of energy to counter the gravity. “It would’ve been nice to punch you in the face at least once.” she sighs dispelling the strengthening magic, her legs reverted to normal. Reaching into her jacket pocket, Desdemona takes out the folded piece of paper from earlier and throws it in the air. “Release!” the word caused a blast of energy to escape the paper, burning it in the process. A replica of the drawn summoning circle appeared underneath her, it was much bigger size.

Dark embers mixed with electric sparks seeped from the center, coiling around Desdemona. Purple skin began to form and a snakelike appearance was revealed. The being had gashes that flickered electricity covering its body. Facing Nodah, the snake hissed loudly.

Desdemona made a gun sign with her hand, moving it a shooting motion. The summon opened its mouth and fired a beam of lightning at Nodah.

The foe acted in an expected manner, sending the swarm crashing into a wall. "You make a man sheepish with so direct an approach, Desdemona," Nodah’s eyes not losing sight of her and his movements becoming more erratic. Desdemona lets her feet touch the ground allowing her body to move in a zigzag motion towards Nodah. With each step she directs the strengthening magic to her legs until they are completely shrouded in darkness.

Desdemona summons another horde this time surrounding her. Now within arm’s reach of Nodah, she moves with unreal speed to his side. “Go!” the bugs launch themselves from Desdemona’s body aiming for his hands and eyes. Simultaneously, Desdemona lifts her leg with great force towards the back of Nodah’s knee, hoping that he’ll be knocked down with a successful hit.
