I love me some dont starve :) color me interested

Thank you! If you make a character I'd love to get this RP going!
@Paradoxial wow! This seems really cool though I must ask is it free casual or advanced?

I'm looking for it to be casual, leaning towards advanced. If you want to participate then whip up a character sheet! I'm hoping for 2-3 people before it kicks off.
They chose YOU (survival RP based off of Don't Starve)

The water from the storm is what wakes you up. Gasping for air, you sit up and stare at the dark hooded figure before you. You vaguely sense that you are surrounded by foliage, but are largely focused on what the figure is pulling out of his cloak. A stone tablet is unceremoniously dropped in front of you, and the creature is suddenly enveloped in black smoke. It disappears, but in its place is a small object though it is not clear to you exactly what it is. Slowly you stand, and a single memory slowly finds a place inside of you. You remember their "delegate", though it's face is lost to you. A black mustache and a top hat were its defining features. " we know what you desire, and we have the means to attain it. All you must do is come to UNDERSTAND us, and what you truly want will be yours." The last you remember is a searing pain on your left hand, and a symbol appearing there. As you look around your surroundings, the storm worsens. You must survive to attain what you truly desire.

(OOC)

The idea for this roleplay is that you have been placed in a harsh world by a vague order, of which you only know as Them. They have promised you your truest desire, and in exchange you agreed to come here, wherever you are now. This will be mainly character driven, with each character having various different items and quirks. The main goal is to regain contact with Them, however an unspeakable act must be preformed before they will appear to you. After you succeed in the act, they will appear and You may ask one question before they depart. You can keep asking questions and doing acts until you escape the twisted world they put you in, or die (ex: how do I escape this world?).The questions may be anything you wish, and your unspeakable act is inscribed on the stone tablet you received in the beginning of the game. You may choose what your beginning act will be (ex: killing another player or preforming some sort of ritual). Also you receive a small trinket, which can be anything you like as long as it is not OP. the time you come from can be anywhere from late 1800s to early 1900s. Your character can have one great attribute that is extremely helpful, but also a large flaw that can actively hinder your survival efforts (ex: being super intelligent, but because your intelligence you are subject to deep depression and bouts of panic. ) Lastly, the symbol on hand is a mark of which of "them" has claimed you. This will be which one of them you will be interacting with the most, and who you will be asking your questions to. Each of the has a slightly different personality, and will react better or worse to specific questions. I'll be GM-ing as "them" but you can choose what symbol you have and what personality it has. You can choose to view "them" how you want, whether it be worship or hatred. Starvation and insanity are common deaths, but are preventable. Unspeakable acts will lower your sanity, and the lower it gets the less you can cohesively do things like talk or make complex objects. You can choose to team up with the other characters, or kill them and take their possessions, though their tablet and personal item are bound to them and will re spawn with them. If you die, you will respawn with a large sanity drop and your items back at the place where you died. If you want to get a basic view of a character structure or what the world looks like, refer to the game Don't Starve which this is heavily based off of.

Would anyone be interested in a Mad Max Fury Road roleplay? I'd really love to explore the inner workings of the different factions, such as the war boys of Immortan Joe or the Buzzards. Since we don't get any direct information from the movie, mostly it would be your job to pick a faction and flesh out the rituals and rites of the faction, an example being the War boys worship of V8 and taking wheels off of a center pile. This would take place in an alt-universe where the main characters of the movie don't exist. However people would be encouraged to fill those places, such as I might be the Immortan of the Citidel and have an original character with different motives and goals than Joe. No one could really play the "hero", as all of the factions generally have self motivated goals. It would also be open for new factions to be invented, though they would have to fit with the general purpose of the wasteland.(ex: buzzards are scavengers and scrappers, gastowners are workers, War boys Are bred fighters.) please let me know if you have any suggestions or are interested!
Hey, I'm fairly new to the website so I just wanted to post my idea to see if it was any good. Any advice or help is appreciated!

Name: Vincent (Weasel) Magoni

Age: 26

Ethnicity: white, American/Italian

Occupation/Place in the Combination: no official position, Precinct Captain

Personal History:

Vincent "the Weasel" Magoni was the best con man the city had ever seen, but life didn't start so easy for him. Born a prositutes son, he spent his early days on the streets as a beggar, using his natural born wit and charm to scrape a living out of the city. He took a job as a street sweeper, factory worker and countless other jobs Before the machine took notice of him. The machine promised him something he could never resist: power. All his life. Vinny had been the odd man out, the slick, the smart aleck, hated for always being able to slip out of every situation. They couldn't have known the skinny tall guy wearing a dirty suit had dreams of grandeur. And so he joined up as a precinct captain, one of the best (according to himself). He patrolled the west side, fooling the suppressed and hardworking immigrants that "a vote for the Pattersons is a vote for you!". Vincent is determined to scale the ranks of the machine, to finally achieve his lifelong dream of not being the little guy anymore.
Actually now that I think about it that does seem a bit far fetched. I've changed my pitch so that it seems a bit more realistic. More of a focus on high priority, quality crime rather than widespread chaos. Thanks for the advice!
Hey guys, so Ive been roleplaying for a year or so, but I'm really new to this website. I just wanted to go ahead and say my character idea before I go to the work of making a CS for him if that's okay. So my idea is for a governer who controls a loose line of systems, generally known as the "slag belt". It is in this belt that most of the Criminal activity in the imperium takes place, whether it smuggling, Gang activity etc. The governer would be deeply connected with several of the most powerful gangs in the imperium, and would be in control of a vast network of criminals across the Many systems in the Imperium. I'm planning on fleshing some of the larger gangs out, with individual motives and NPCS. Because of these connections, he is one of the richest men in the Imoerium due to his smuggling and blood operations. Basically his role would be as the only connection of information to the Imperium, responsible for the bribes and illegal weapons manufacturing. Let me know if this sounds good to you guys. Thanks for any help!
Okay I know I got here way too late for this, but is there a waiting list or something that I could get on? This RP seems really interesting so I'd love the chance to participate in the future if possible.
So I had an idea for a roleplay about a bunch of scavengers living in a oppressive, post apocalyptic steampunk world where everything is owned by giant corporations. Would anyone be interested in joining that? If you want to see the roleplay, look up "life of a scavenger" or look in my profile page. Thanks for any help and/or support!
The life of a scavenger is set long after the nuclear apocalypse, so much so that no one even remembers the War and there's no radiation to show for it. The north half of what used to be America is owned by Helix Corporation and the south is owned by Manson&Johnson, gigantic companies that control every legal trade route in existence and almost every town. These companies are constantly clashing over borders and pretty much anything else with any value at all. Both companies reside in the Trade Leagues Palace of Blimps, a place supposedly free of all crime. The Palace is set directly between the north/south border as to not show favoritism to either company. Several smaller companies also reside there and own small parts of Alaska and Canada, both of which are completely deserted except for the explorers and small companies. Your character should be a scavenger, under the employ of Darrel and tasked with the job of scavenging any and all useful materials from a huge blimp crash about 10 miles out of town. When applying, please follow the below character sheet. A "quirk" is something your character has that gives them a slight advantage in some situations. For instance, a street urchin could have the skill of being an exceptional pickpocket or Characters are allowed 2 quirks.
