About
I go by Sarge. Im in my mid-twenties. I don't identify by gender. I've been RP'ing on other sites but just moved over here in hopes the community will be better. I consider myself Advanced but I'm not terribly picky. I'm comfortable writing a novella or a sentence (though the later rarely happens).

Alrighty it looks like I'm getting the most interest for 2 and 3. I'll make an actual Interest Check for both this weekend and post a link here for everyone.
Whelp, now I got interest all over the board. Which is both good and bad....
Mark Jackson obviously stayed behind - presumably for one other mission-related reason (like guarding the clear codex of places so that he could monitor its use and protect the rest of the galaxy from humanity coming through to conquer other worlds - if not solely due to falling in love with the woman who ended up getting captured upon the earthlings' return.

Daniel Jackson. Not Mark. And he stayed behind to bury the Stargate which would protect Earth. Because they thought that was the only stargate there was. It wasn't until later that he discovered the other gate addresses. Which is why he uncovered his gate. He was actually going to start trying to dial up another gate when Jack had dialed him.

(ooooh! wondering if SG1 explains the Egyptian concept of the Duat levels at all in a biological/astronomical way)
I wouldn't count on it. Most the the mythology (not just Egyptian) is explored mostly superficially. Though if that is something of interest for the players we can do something a little more accurate and a little more in-depth.
the big hot dude with the gold forehead thing.

The character's name is Teal'c. The actor is Christopher Judge. And yes, I do know he voices Kratos. I also know there was a huge uproar about it because he replaced the original voice actor and the fans were pissed.

If Hulu doesn't have it, I'm gonna flip a table.

I do believe Hulu at least has a few seasons. Your tables are safe... for the moment. They don't have the 1994 movie, which is actually the start of the whole thing. So you might want to think about watching that too.
So I was thinking of coming back to the site and running a RP. I have three different ideas and I wanted to if there was any interest in any of them before I committed to anything.

1. Stargate SG-1 Year 2
What it says on the tin. This would be a small group RP following the exploits of a multinational Stargate team set in year 2 of the Stargate SG-1 series. After the failed invasion of Earth there was a strong push to get ahead of the threats. The number of stargate teams were expanded from nine to ten. We are SG-10. At first my plan is to largely follow season's 2 plots. But, and here's the main catch, I plan on having our team start effecting canon events. The long term plan is to have SG-10's actions drastically change the direction the show took into something new and different.

2. Zombie Apocalypse Survival
Yup. Another zombie RP. This one is a bigger open world and I'd be looking for at least one co-gm. The main focus would be on a settlement of survivors and how they interact with this new world and each other. There would also be a major plot point of a scientist who seeks to undo the ZA. There would be character death so multiple characters are desired and encouraged.

3. Fantasy prophecy fulfillment
Once upon a time there was a prophecy about a savior. In the current era there are a few people who appear to fulfill part(s) of the prophecy. One of the human Queens sends out her best knights to gather up these individuals to protect them. Despite the seemingly lighthearted tone, this would be a darker RP with political drama and a serious mystery. Not all is what it seems. Looking for 3-5 characters to be possible prophecy saviors and another 2 or so to be knights or other non prophecy individuals.

I'm open to any skill level from low casual to advanced. If there is a decent amount of interest in any the ideas I'll start working on a more specific interest check and go again from there.

P.S. The plots are ranked with what I'd like to most to (well, I wouldn't say least but yeah).
WWII-era anything, or a setting inspired by the world of that time. Perhaps a tale of grotesque experiments/bioweapons and the occult, or a lost soldier who stumbles across a terrifying, supernatural find regarding enemy war efforts.

Color me interested. I'm at work (just popping in right before I clock on) but I can send you a pm later when I'm home.
Hey howdy hey.

Would you be interested in an occult/urban fantasy story set in WWII?
Upon my quiet return to the guild I was hunted down and told you guys didn't get underway yet. So I've returned. Other than finishing fleshing out the Fujioji's unquie fighting style (and Nakazono's) was there anything else I needed that's come up since I've been away?

Posted. Sorry I didn't get it up sooner. I almost had it all written then Easter happened.
HAIL HYDRA!
HAIL HYDRA!
HAIL HYDRA!

The roar of the crowd was deafening from Ian's position. He couldn't even hear himself yell out. This was both a blessing and a curse. Because he didn't want to be here. He never wanted to be here. But staying out of Hydra's attention requires sacrifice. Or more specifically, doing what everyone else does. Which in this case was attending this parade. The only other blessing was he was short enough and far enough back he couldn't see the poor people doomed to die. The thought of it always turned his stomach. From past experience he knew he'd lose his scant breakfast as soon as this was over.

Ian resisted the impulse to scan the crowd. There was always someone who was looking out for mutants and/or mutant sympathizers. Anyone without appropriate enough zeal was usually marked. Coupled with Ian's warn clothing he knew he was already marked. A lot of homeless and transient people were Hydra dissenters. The poor were always never happy with the "ruling" class. If it was still America Ian was sure that he would be against whatever political party that was in office. It was just the way things worked. The grass was always greener and all that jazz.

The parade was passing Ian and working it's way further down the street. The torture was nearly over. He wouldn't have to think about how this could have been him out there. About how it probably had been him when he was only a young boy. About how it could still be him all over again.

Ian's morbid train of thought cut off as a loud bang cut through the screaming, chanting voices. People around him flinched and ducked. New screaming started up, full of terror and pain. The sounds of guns firing warring with the cries, drowning them out. Ian shifted his body with the flow as people started fleeing. It was a mad house as people pushed, shoved and ran. Ian tried to keep a wary eye out as he was pushed along in the stampede. He didn't see much other then Hydra forces making their way through the press of people. Unlike the civilians, the crowd parted for them. Or else Hydra just cut them down and continued on.

One such person, a young woman, failed to move out of the path quick enough and got shot for her failure. She stumbled, failed and was lost under the sea of people. Ian balked against the flow and forced himself back to where he last saw her only to find her trampled to death. Other than the few stragglers the mass of people lad largely moved on. Shaking the man now had a better view of what could only be described as a battle.

Ian looked up as music blared loudly out of every speaker in the area. Ian couldn't help but stare as Hydra fought against what could only be Iron Man. But he was dead. Wasn't he? Ian was shocked out of staring by new screaming. One of the mutants who had been involved in the ghastly parade was trying to get away but a Hydra soldier had noticed him.

Ian's tongue darted out to moisten his lips. Ian wasn't a impulsive man. He was slow and methodical. Getting involved now would only mean his death.

But

The Hydra soldier raised his gun and Ian quickly snapped out his. Within the same moment he fired but so did Hydra. Both the soldier and the mutant jerked.
