They say it's about the journey, not the destination. This is true of many things. Pizza delivery is not one of them.

TFW you know what you want to happen but the words aren't cooperating. Why is plot suddenly so much harder to write?

Bio

I am an adult, though I don't usually act like it. I'm a voracious reader, and not overly picky about books. I am artistic in a variety of areas, including music, drawing, writing, and sculpting. I have a minor obsession with dragons, and love the color violet. Fantasy is my preferred genre, be it past, future, urban...as long as it has a fantasy flavor to it. I also like scifi, mystery, and some horror. I am crazy, and I like tormenting my characters. But I don't bite...much. ^.~

@Lady Selune ALL THE MONTY PYTHON!

My sheet will be done today or tomorrow. ...I hopr. It'd my intention....
As a note, I'd say I'm dead of laughing, but I'm pretty sure I'm just pining for the fjords.
@Lady Selune. I knew this about the insuilt and it's the best thing ever.

Also, coconuts may not migrate, but they /do/ make long voyages. Just only one way.
@Oak7ree I have had some brilliant teachers, and I liked many of the .

@ayzrules@Lady Selune *giggles* yes, very well done.

@Oak7ree@MegaOscarPwn to be fair, nobody would expect this from them....
@The Irish Tree haha, I'm fond of most people. Even the chars I dislike, if I enjoy disliking them. <3

But tell me this. That looks suspiciously like new arts? Is it, or is just a reaction pic? Do you do the arts? Is that Hawkwood? ...did you draw the arts in your SIG? *getting entirely too excited*

Also I'm seriously considering aging up my char because of a couple reasons. For one, I've always seen her as on the older side of things. Not suire how she ended 26 instead o28. Maybe because I gravitate towards 28 and 23 -- as I see a number of you did.

So yeah, may make her 31 if @Gowi will let me. As for why the older ones, I figure mostly the older folks have the funds? And we all, in the effort to avoid teen cliches, tipped the scale too far the other way.
@MissCapnCrunch well, I /could/ create a kiddie. I actually have two that might work for hhia....but ehhhhhhh. Besides, that'd mean more cses. Screw that. =P
@Superboy hey, if you are not a nice person, Emma/Elian will rip you a new one. Or she'll let the mobs rip you a new one and just not heal it for you. ^.~
Amuné nodded when Ethan said they were safe, but his assurances about the Machina elicited only an unhappy sniffle as the girl nestled herself between her two protectors. She knew better, her mommy was a healer and she'd seen people when what made them who they were was gone, and that was what Cecil looked like now. Ethan was just doing what a lot of people did, because they wanted someone to stay. /She/ wanted Cecil to stay too, and she kept having to remind herself that he was gone, that if the Saints had taken him he was with them now. The thought that at least he had his answers now was little reassurance.

The route was a scenic one, winding through the start of the foothills. Their destination came into view suddenly after a bend in the road, a city curled against a bend in the river to one side and sheltered by the first of the real mountains on the other. By then Amuné was in a somewhat better mood, at least, though a gloomy cloud still hung over her. But the sight of Mutebo, bright in the afternoon sun, made her feel at least a little hopeful. The place was as big as the biggest of the towns she'd been to with her father, the times he'd had them go travelling with his tribe. Ethan thought Cecil could be repaired and in a city like that, there had to be someone who knew about Machina, right? The child gave herself a shake. She didn't want to hope if it wasn't so. Hope was already stretching thin, believing she could find her parents after weeks, and so far from home. They were safe, of course, of that there was no doubt, but they had to be worried about her and she really had no idea how to find them. She missed them terribly. "Ethan?" She tugged at his sleeve, actually managing a smile at his dumbfounded expression despite the awful events of earlier. "Do you think...do you think maybe someone in town will know something about my parents?" Amuné looked up at him, her grey eyes worried. She was desperately in need of some good news.

It was a surprise to hear that Mutebo accepted magi. Amuné glanced warily at Ethan, then Nymira, wondering how they'd react. But she still had no intention of saying anything about her own gift. Her daddy had told her that even among magi the Sight was rare, and she needed to be careful of other magi as well as those without magic.

She let out a wide-eye squeak when the new lady said Asta had summoned the lizard-dogs. She had? Why? Those things were bad, and scary. When Ethan asked her what she though of the other Ydran's anctions, the girl shook her head, frowning. "No! She summoned scary things and they might have killed everyone, and they're big and scary and /bad/! She's bad!!"
@Oak7ree Donald...Duck? Okay now I'm /scared/. But no, usually grocery stores are food. Sometimes general supplies, like general household items. Some toiletries. A supermarket or a store like Walmart might have books and comics, and also electronics and appliances and clothes and bedding. But your best bet for comics are as follows: book stores, geek stores, and of course comic shops (because...well dur).
@The Irish Tree Hee, I like you. Char feels very vibrant, and lovely word choice. I adore the fact that you know arms and armor. <3 *soft squealing* With that said, I'm gonna be that guy. Apostrophes. Please. It's only 's if it's possessive, or a contraction (and its as a possessive does /not/ have one, but it's as in "it is" does). If you're just making it plural, no apostrophe.

With my grammar pedantry out of the way (and I do understand, I just try to help people learn if there's a rule they keep breaking inadvertently), I have to say. I love /love/ the teacher idea here. I just...I may have an awesome teacher that I adored and am still friends with to this day. Hawkwood-the-teacher reminds me of her, a bit. History buff and the accompanying "I will talk your ear off" trait are great~ I do wish to note that I'm not sure a doctorate is not necessary for a teaching position, but I think a high-school position may require a minor or something in education. Not a big deal. *shrug* Doesn't really need changing.

Just to be clear, Grant is his last name? So Richter is his first? Or does he generally go by just Grant?

Right, benchmarks. You're allowed five of each, but starting with fewer is fine. Let's break it down.

He wears armor all the time and so is better at doing things in armor. It gives him less trouble. Excellent~

Rallies others...Not sure how this would work IC, but a good concept. And it sounds like his own endurance/ability to tank hits goes up when protecting newbies? Right-o.

Knows how to care for arms and armor. Can keep them from degrading, and probably handle minor repairs? I'm guessing this is above and beyond the standard -- perhaps otherwise damaging substances affect things he's cared for less, and he's better at field repairs to things?

Inspiration again, nice way to support another ability. And it also pulls aggro -- more effectively than most other people hollering would, I suppose? *nodding*

Lots of learning means he knows where he is. Makes sense. A further extension of something like Pathfinder, but without the added benefit of being able to navigate obstacles.

OOOH I LIKE THIS TEACHER THING. <3 You learn faster if he helps you? YESYESYES. ^.^ A+

Plants. Hm. This seems like...a basic knowledge sort of thing. I mean, yes, knowing where you are is sort of a knowledge thing? But I'm assuming that will work even in places he's never been before -- a benefit you wouldn't have irl. Knowing about plants...what's the bonus here?

Identify Monster is something Elian has, so it's cleared. Hers is split into two, but adds the benefit of knowing their tendencies and assessing even rare monsters.

I look forward to Elian giving him a hard time. I'm sure she likes him, and that's what she does to people she likes. <3 Definitely want to see more of him. And him being mistaken for an NPC is hilarious. And I need to do this now.

In fact. Headcanon says that's where Elian's favorite taunt for him originates~ ^.~

@MissCapnCrunch Daddy what? O.o *looks from you to to Tree and back*
