@Lucidnonsense Could very well be a possibility. Most Exiles are solo or hiding their powers as Exiles are a secret to normal people, while usually doubling as a Society agent when called upon. But there could be some more obscure, under-the-table facilities dedicated to training Exiles for those interested and smart enough to find them. Your idea could totally be possible.

With that though, I apologize for not getting up the OOC tonight. I can get it up some time tomorrow, most likely.
Rudavegas just nodded his head, taking in whatever information his little goblin brain could soak up in this state of confusion and worry that he might be a few steps from death any time now. When people began to move to go to sleep and do whatever else, not intent on doing anything negative to him for the moment at least, he took a seat exactly where he was dropped.

Sighing, he leaned on his staff as he sat, eyeing the campfire for a moment before his gaze drifted over to Dorisma.

"That, uhh, won't be necessary. I'm smart enough to know when not to screw with someone. Attacking one of y'all would open up one hell of a hornet's nest on my ass."

With that, he leaned up against a nearby log and continued.

"But enough about me... you lot don't seem much for conversation, huh? Why is that, exactly?"
@Lugia Ah, didn't notice 3 people had posted. Well alright then. I'll post in a little bit, just busy right now.
Alright! Halfway there! 3 more should do just fine.
Whether it be an actual school, an academy for superpowered youngsters, or flat-out "*Insert franchise here* Academy"... how do my fellow RPers feel about these kinds of RPs? They never seem to be in demand as they're consistently overflowing compared to any other genre of RP, or so I find. I suppose I can kinda see the appeal of making an RP where the characters are in a school setting. It's relatable. I get that. I don't have to like it, but I get it.

What I don't really get so much is the appeal behind taking [franchise] and having the characters be in a school in some alternate reality version of their world. It's such a huge RPing concept that I used to love a long time ago but honestly just can't get into anymore. Have I just turned cynical and picky towards RPs over time? I'm not sure. Maybe I just think the concept has gotten stale or something. Most of the ones I see just treat it as the means to an end - the end being that it's easier to set up a plot in a school setting because it already explains the reasons of the protagonists for being where they are.

...Eh, I'll leave my opinion at that for now. I didn't intend to turn it into a rant or anything.

How does the Guild feel about these kinds of RPs?
Glad to know you like it!
Very interesting. I'll send you a PM with my character in a bit.
@Yamazaki@Asura

You guys are up!
The Plot

In the suburban town of Don's Peak located in the state of California, all is generally well. The people there go about living their lives in a fashion similar to the stereotypical American Dream. Very few things typically go wrong, with most problems having a solution that doesn't involve violence.

That is, up until recently. In the sunny town of Don's Peak, tragedy has struck recently. A serial killer has been running rampant throughout the town, murdering relentlessly without remorse and leaving no evidence behind of their crimes. Strange, impossible occurrences that don't add up are all too common with this killer's crimes.

Recently they carved a statement into one of the walls of the room of their most recent victim. The statement read, "One week until the destruction of Don's Peak". This was carved into the wall of one Ms. Welsh, an old widow who lived alone, and was carved only last night. While many officers are panicking thinking that this is some sort of terrorist threat, there is one organization that knows exactly what all the clues point towards.

The Exiled Society, more often just called The Society, is a group of supernatural law enforcement saved for occasions just like this one. There are people in the world called Exiles, who are people that may appear as normal as the next person. The key difference, however, is their abilities. Exiles can perform what can only be described as magic, seeing as how no science can truly explain them completely.

An Exile is believed to be behind the murders, and is assumed to be completely serious on their threat to destroy Don's Peak within the week. Thus, the Don's Peak branch of The Society has been forced into action to find and kill the killer.

Exiles who were hiding in plain sight as residents of Don's Peak, affiliated with The Society, have been brought along into a police station to go over their briefing and to obtain their official badges. Whether eager or not, they have been called upon to return peace to the quiet suburban town. With only 6 days until the potential end of the town, there isn't much time.

Yet, there's doubt in the atmosphere. If the killer's an Exile, wouldn't it be possible for the killer to even be among them...?

So that's the general set-up for the plot. You, the players, will be Exiles working for The Society to find and kill the murderer before 6 days have passed. You'll work with each other to investigate, search for those who might relate to the killer, and even potentially come across other dangerous Exiles aside from your main target. Even if you're all wearing badges, though, there is a twist: the killer is among you. Yes! One of your fellow players is seeking the destruction of all of you, and needs only 6 more days to do so. Their objective is merely to survive for that long.

I will select the killer randomly using good ol' RNG after I've approved all of the characters, so nobody will be going in applying as a serial killer with the intent of being one. The killer will also get something special, though of course only they will know what that special thing is.

Powers will also be randomly assigned, as I have a list of powers ready to go already; I'll PM each player their powers and whether they're the killer or not AFTER you've all been approved in the OOC. Note how I said I'd PM it all to you all. It's up to you whether to remain secretive about what you can do or not, and who you trust IC and OOC to give your information to.

It should also be noted that there will most likely be PvP between player characters due to the nature of cop vs killer, or even a scuffle between someone who's suspicious of another player and decides to attack them. If you aren't up for the potential for PvP or getting killed, this RP isn't for you. Death is a very real consequence and you only get your one life due to how short the RP is. Keep that in mind so as to avoid complaints about character death later, please.

Either way, I had this in mind! Obviously it won't be too long of an RP but it could be fun. For the purpose of technology, we'll just say this takes place in 2016.

I'm thinking 5 or 6 people would be a nice number to have, so I'll aim for that before I start the OOC.
@Kibaro I don't believe they would have anything special with regular animals, no. Since they're their own civilized race and all. If the Catfolk in question were of a more feral nature I'd be more inclined to believe otherwise, but I don't think there'd be treatment all that different from anyone else.
