@Ekreture I was thinking about doing an amateur boxer from NYC with a friendly older brother sort of disposition. He was on a losing streak, but one day suddenly started winning all of his matches and was in the middle of a promising career when things started to go to shit. Still working out the details, but let me know if you have anything to add or change about that.

@Fisticuffs No probs! Warhammer as I know it is a game where you move armies of really expensive miniatures around a board using a tape measure, and positioning and terrain and that sort of thing makes a huge strategic difference so doing it through text would be...pretty bad at best.

I'm probably biased but Pathfinder rules can be modified to any sort of universe you want, making it really useful for forum dice games. Then all the resources and campaigns can be stitched together to help build your world and run it. Definitely got some reading ahead of you if you want to run a game though.

Pathfinder's probably your best bet if you want something straightforward and encompassing with tons of mods and pre-made campaigns. I find the new editions of DnD way too limiting for character creation and I dunno how you'd do wargaming like Warhammer on a forum.

Vesper, Knight of the Leaf

Name: Vesper Iarrora

Personality: Vesper displays an icy disposition to others, rarely speaking or making a sound, which lends itself advantageously to the life of a ranger. He cares little for others or how they might feel about him - in fact, the only thing that seems to motivate him is the mission of the Knights of the Leaf, and in that he acts with ruthless efficiency. When off-duty, Vesper drinks heavily, and this is one of the only times he can be roused to speak. When he does speak freely, he is cynical, mocking, and cruel. Occasionally, when alone, Vesper is struck by grief, and weeps silently and desperately for his lost family.

Biography: Vesper grew up in a woodland town near Faron City, into a small family of hunters. Rather than continue his family's meager way of living, he enlisted early into the Knights of the Leaf, and training in archery from an early age bought him his entrance ticket. He quickly and easily adapted to the lifestyle of a ranger, learning the way of the sword from his fellow scouts and enjoying every moment in the Leaf corps.

At the age of 26, Vesper became a father to a young boy, and used his earnings to purchase a home in Faron City for his family and waned somewhat from scouting. Almost a year later, after returning home from a field mission, Vesper found his home broken and his wife and son murdered. The killers did not leave a single track to follow. Devastated, Vesper abandoned his home and returned to the front lines of the Leaf where he found solace in the solitude of the wilds.

Upon hearing of the attacks and murders in Hyrule, Vesper quickly volunteered to take part in the investigation, hoping to find some clue to his own tragedy, some direction in his path of vengeance.

Feats

[Trait] [Hylian] Ears of the Gods - They say a Hylian’s pointed ears mean they can hear the gods better. That has nothing to do with the trait though, Hylians are more attuned with magic and and are more skill-based warriors. They get one extra spell or technique.

[Trait] Tracker - Can track and locate any target not actively hiding, from their last known whereabouts.

[Trait] [The Leaf] Camouflage - The Knights of the Leaf are often called the Chameleon Knights. This is a basic passive magic that blends their armor to their environment, though it takes time to cast meaning it cannot be used for combat, but it allows these knights to sneak and scout at will.

[Trait] Wolf Style - Advanced swordsmanship that focuses on speed over power. The user can strike twice where others would strike once, overwhelming their opponent's defense. Each attack deals 75% damage.

[Tech] [Wolf Style] Swallow Dance (15) - The user amplifies their speed to extreme levels for one attack, striking from three directions in the same instant. Each attack deals 100% damage.

[Trait] [Wolf Style] The Wolf Hunts - While hidden, the user's movement speed is doubled. Their first melee or ranged attack removes stealth and deals 150% of its normal damage.

[Trait] [Wolf Style] Survival Instinct - While using Wolf Style, the user cannot be incapacitated by normal damage. Any incapacitating blow will leave the user with 1/4 Heart. Can only be activated once per day.

[Trait] Savage Wolf Style - Activates when the user drops below 2 Hearts. Overrides other Styles. Stealth becomes impossible, and all attacks deal 200% damage.

Equipment
Main Weapon: Leaf Broadsword - A lightweight steel sword on which the hilt bears the mark of the Leaf.
Off-Hand: Shortbow - A standard, easy-to-use bow that does not hinder the user's movement.
Armor: Leaf Armour - A combination leather-and-scale mail with a heavy green cloak bearing the crest of Knights of the Leaf.

I'm so sorry, I never got your first mention for some reason. I think they could be a good yin and yang, one brooding angry quiet dude and Rin's chill factor and cheerfulness to balance it out, plus drinking buddies. We can talk about it in PM if you want.
