After years of struggle, Queen Dinee's incredible workload remains unchanged. Although she is a brilliant ruler almost single-handedly running the country, her long days spent inside her office, constantly working and writing, are clearly starting to strain her health. Ever since the day she hit her head on her desk 2 years ago, her maids and servants have quietly done their best to ease her constant stress, ensuring that she eats well, sleeps well and has someone to catch her in case she collapses again. They understand that it's only a question of time before Dinee will shut down, leaving Ladrana without a leader and with important administrative work undone.

The people of Ladrana have slowly taken over Dinee's work, hoping that they'll be able to reward her with a much-needed vacation once they've taken much of the work off her hands. Finally, their plans succeed; one day, following an hour of frantic work, Dinee is suddenly out of things to do. Her head maid lets her know that a carriage stands ready outside the ancestral red castle, ready to drive her to the summer palace near the city, where she will get her much-needed vacation. As the nation she led back to greatness prepares to run itself in her absence, it quickly finds itself more in need of Dinee's talents than ever before...

You play as the servants, maids, guards and followers of the honored Queen Dinee, a beloved, celebrated and humble woman who worked herself to the bone trying to rebuild the Ladrana that her parents ruined through their greed and corruption. You've been doing your best to support her through the 2 years she spent working intensely to rule the country, protecting her from her many enemies, and taking care of her while was working too much to take good care of herself. You'll now be joining her at the summer palace, trying to ensure that her new life is as pleasant as possible.

Beyond your simple expression of interest, I'd like a quick character pitch to explain who you are and what you'll be doing for Dinee during her vacation. I'm looking forward to seeing how your characters affect the path of this RP.
I wish to RP as Queen Dinee, the new queen of the crumbling nation of Ladrana. Rival nations have heard of her brilliance, and wish to see her dead. The dangers of leaving her castle means that she rarely sees anyone other than the staff. For this reason, she has always felt alone in this world, and seeks someone to support her beyond being a mere employee.

That's where you come in. You're her most trusted

-bodyguard
-servant
-scribe

or diplomat, and she recently seems to refuse to go anywhere without you. You're pretty sure she has a desperate need for friendship, and fear that she might crumble without you being there for her. Can you help her handle the workload of her days, and ensure that she has the strength to defend Ladrana from those who would prey upon it?

Greed and sloth have laid the kingdom in ruins. The royal family have done nothing beyond enriching themselves, leaving their nation poor and undefended. Enemies within and without pounced on the opportunity, and only a genius could possibly handle the overwhelming challenges in wait.

The peasants of Ladrana know this, as certainly as they know that eliminating the royal family is the only chance for a more worthy ruler to take their place. They quickly stormed the castle; the drunk queen and the fat king failed to run away, quickly murdered by the rabble. Yet they let the princess live - for now.

Quite a few people have heard of her brilliance, and consider it a threat to their plans. They will use subtle and simpler techniques to kill her. Your role in this RP is to defend the princess, Dinee, from these assassins, as well as more mundane threats. With your protection, she can apply her boundless energy to undoing the damage dealt by her parents, hopefully restoring Ladrana to greatness.

Name: Amy Emmerson
Age: 25
Gender: Female
Appearance: Amy Emmerson is 5'9, and impressively muscular given her small frame. She generally wears a brown wardrobe, commonly consisting of a thick brown jacket and brown pants. They fit quite loosely, and give her a large range of motion. Her brown eyes and black hair look ordinary, although she has a beautiful form and an innocent face.
Abilities: Amy Emmerson is extremely athletic, however she more often uses her knowledge of philosophy and psychology to lead others. She is familiar with the rituals and concepts of a dozen different religions, in addition to being a versatile cook. She is fairly skilled with rifles, although she still struggles with recoil and her sensitive ears struggle to hear anything after she fires a bullet.
Equipment: Amy Emmerson has a WWII era rifle and 20 bullets, a roomy backpack, her loose brown clothes, and a pair of steel gauntlets. Their rust matches the color of her other clothes. Finally, she always wears a steel-toed pair of military boots. At her tent, she has a drawer filled with other kinds of clothes.
Backstory: Amy Emmerson used to live with her parents, not doing much beyond exercising, housework, and learning about the humanities. On the day of the outbreak, she saw terrible chaos and destruction. She decided to never let the world change her, and her optimism led others to follow her. Slowly, she managed to get enough trust from her fellow survivors to lead them through good and bad days, while helping those searching for purpose to hear religious teachings from their own and other faiths.
Personality: Amy Emmerson is very naive. Her endless optimism has nearly led to her death many times. Simultaneously, she might have died if it weren't for her optimism attracting followers. Amy is simultaneously pragmatic, and manages to stay level-headed as long as she won't have to see someone die.

Satiety: Fed and hydrated
In case you didn't discover or weren't convinced by the interest check, I will close this RP if I get 3 more participants.
The world of zombies really is brutal, so express your interest in the OOC section or sit on the sidelines!

(The magic word is blue. Describe something blue when you express interest, then create your character sheet.)

Somewhere in the rural U.S, a small group of people travel back to their homes; a collection of tents, isolated from anything but a city 25 miles away. Most importantly, it is far from the walking dead. From the direction the travelers approach from, a dozen different people slowly dig a deeper ditch. As a woman in front of them approaches, those waiting on the other side of the ditch slowly lower a wide plank. The group slowly enter, worn down by the long journey and the heavy contents of their packs. As the group's final member takes a step off the "drawbridge", a round of applause from a small crowd brings a smile to their faces. They leave their packs on the ground, and the crowd surrounding them quickly gather them, empty them, and return them. The woman in front exhales forcefully, before starting to take slow steps towards a stone pit in the center. There, the remains of a boar is placed next to a small fire and a spit. Impressively, the woman is strong enough to lift the boar onto the spit by herself. She quickly feeds the fire a few logs, and slowly roasts the creature. After it has been fully cooked, she skillfully slices strips of meat off it, feeding those nearby.

"Courage is wealth. Even as we take strides to return to a more dignified life, we must never grow complacent or resent this world. And never forget that mercy and kindness is the entirety of community. Or that a king who never leaves his castle, will never see the beauty of the hunting grounds."

Her smile is virulent, and somehow, a ray of hope seems to spread among the people surrounding her. After finishing her own share of the boar, she walks towards a tent, motioning for her traveling companions to follow. After they arrive, she slowly kneels on a soft patch of grass. And slowly slides up one of her sleeves. Just above the wrist, you can see a small section of missing flesh.

"I've been bit, and it's only a question of time before I become a zombie like the one that attacked bit me. I've traveled with you for most of the last year, and I think the people here are willing to listen to you in my absence. Once I've left, let them know that I was bit, but left for their safety."
@JELDare In your view, how long should I keep the interest check open? I don't have a lot of experience GMing on this forum.
I feel quite foolish for not mentioning this earlier, but I don't intend to participate in this RP any longer. I think it's just that I couldn't quite turn the premise into terribly exciting RP.
This sounds interesting! What area is it based in? Which type of "zombies" are they; fast, slow, mutated, etc?

I've got a few questions that I'm sure would/could be answered in an OOC if it makes it to that point! But color me interested!

The zombies are of the slow sort. However, they are stronger than they were before their death, and it seems as if their numbers keep growing, even though there aren't any more people to turn. In addition, slightly different kinds of zombies have been spotted, slightly faster than the others, who also use cover effectively.
For a year or so, the living have managed to outsmart the walking dead. The efforts of celebrant Amy Emmerson, who was strong enough to fight and kind enough to care for others, united a community of a few hundred. Her knowledge of ceremony, cooking and comforting others has given her fellow survivors the hope needed to keep fighting in a dangerous world. During one of her excursions, a zombie bit her hand, but she hid it from her companions, you. After regrouping in her farmhouse, you understand that you'll need to take her place as the leader of her small community. Can you survive the onslaught of the dead, fading hope, shrinking stockpile and a community divided over new leadership?

Bite is a zombie RP from the view of the leaders of a greater community of survivors. It will feature politics and a burgeoning culture, rather than the "heroic fantasy" more common in this style of RP.

I intend to hear interest from 2-5 players, before starting the main thread. I don't expect a filled character sheet, although I would appreciate it.
