Current I think watching fight scenes can help in general terms with writing combat, since it can give you an idea of flow and choreography.

At least if you're writing something you know, with knights.

I mean, depends on what you're writing, and the tone and theme of what you're writing. Trained armored knights were legitimately monstrous on the battlefield, so looking up how they fought helps.

As much as there's a lot of reasons twitter sucks, I genuinely don't want to see it die for the sake of all the artists who now rely on it. Hoping the shithead stops trying to directly administrate.

roleplayerguild.com/posts/5… If anyone's up for fighting some kaiju, why not try out my new RP, Godzilla: YATAGARUSU?

There was rather a lot that happened immediately after the arrival at the shrine. Umbra had to leave... due to the death of her father. She could hardly protest that, and now was quite simply not the time to. What could have killed an elven lord like that? Fanilly took a deep breath. For the moment, now was the time to investigate the shrine itself. While any death such as that was sad news, she had never met the elf. Perhaps, at the very least, they could discover some sign of what had occurred here. The small blonde gave a short prayer as she circled the shrine, slowly. She had been to the shrine three times prior, once on her first birthday, once again on her sister's first birthday, and finally when it was decided she would be the next Captain of the Iron Roses. Largely, it was a place of pleasant memories. And yet, the thieves and those who were using the symbol of Phoran Cal's Rebellion had met here?

"Search the area for any signs of what may have occurred here, anything at all," she began, as she strode forward... and stopped dead in her tracks.

Bones. Pure white bones. They had not, it seemed, been here for long. There was no sign of weathering, and yet they were picked clean. The skeleton grin of a skull stared up at her.

A skeleton with not a scrap of flesh on it lay on the ground, near the shrine.

"... Th... that's..."

Someone had died here? Surely, someone would have seen a body rotting away, it wasn't as if this shrine was an unknown location that no-one had visited... and there was no weathering to that skeleton. Those bones were pure white.

"... How..."

Fanilly approached the remains. There wasn't even a fracture, no signs of violence on the body... Fanilly couldn't say she was an expert, but she could at least recognize broken or shattered bone.

Meanwhile, Veileena Cal simply stood beside Haelstadt, looking rather annoyed at having to come along.
Honami Aoi

"Um, shouldn't we help somehow though?" Aoi asked, looking up at the boy with her antenna twitching. She couldn't fight, but it didn't seem right to just stay back... she shifted from one foot to another, frowning slightly as she did. What, exactly, had caused the teddy bear to become giant and aggressive? After a few moments, her antenna twitched again. Something else was there too, that fading feeling of terrible corruption...

"... Hiraku-san, help me get up somewhere high!" Aoi declared, waving her hands in the air.

Aoyama Makiko

The teddy bear reeled. Multiple impacts across its body, one of its arms bound to its side by a snake, its body under attack from multiple angles, its feet secured... swayed from a sudden, sharp impact from the hanyou's fist, too, only unable to fall due to its immobile legs. Needless to say, the enormous stuffed toy was not in a good position to fight back. Still, with its remaining free arm, it attempted to raise up for a strike...

The ofuda attached to Makiko's skirt blazed red, her form blurring as the power in her legs was boosted several times, greatly enhancing her speed. Her scarf fluttered behind her, and as she placed a hand on the hilt of her katana. Red mana leaked from around her hand as she drew the blade in a flash... and lept.

When she landed, she sheathed her katana.

Behind her, the teddy bear's arm fell away at the seam. The light poured up its body, too, intent on driving out the strange force that had entered the toy. Satisfied with how cool her entrance had been, Makiko turned on her heel to look up at the enormous creature... but wait.

Something was wrong.

"Eh? There's something-"

From the severed hole of its arm, an enormous, shadowy from erupted. Twitching legs sprouted from it, flailing. It looked like a centipede.

Kegare.

The purifying spells were driving it out, but it wasn't done yet...!

Sayuri, meanwhile, was not entirely prepared for the sudden liftoff into the air. For a moment she was surprised, and even a little scared, as she was carried higher and higher, trembling slightly... but as the sensation of weightless, of being so high up, began to get to her, any fear faded into excitement. Even the giant teddy bear was forgotten to now, as the little girl stretched her arms out like a pair of wings.

I'll probably be starting by Sunday.

If your bio isn't up by then it's okay, your character doesn't have to necessarily be around for the opening.
@Mercurial: Accepted!
@Mercurial: That's fine, as long as it's not hugely powerful to start with.
@Dblade26: Alright, after you get your post up, I'll post.
@Mercurial: She's pretty much entirely fine, but do keep in mind we'll be using Soul Arts to fight monsters, so if you have an offensive one you might want it to be a little bit stronger so it can hurt them more.

Unless you plan on having her improvise weapons until it gets strong enough.
Accepted.
@banjoanjo: Ah, alright. Hope things work out. ^^;
@Nerevarine: Alright, good luck with whatever's got you preoccupied. ^^;
