Jen would follow the servant to the kitchen. She didn’t seem too pleased with either his appearance or his goal. There in front of him lay a pile of dirtied pots, pans, and other tools that would be useful in his quest to make a better dinner. He’d turn around to see that the annoyed servant had abandoned him to his fate. “Hey-” So this was the price to upgrade their meal. Jen didn’t waste time grumbling as he’d save that after washing everything the second time. It would be right there and then that he would call upon the full strength of his abilities to plow through the clean-up before properly starting.

The Taste-man’s sense of pride propelled him through the drudgery of cleaning. Jen would throw some chopped vegetables he acquired and throw them into a pot. Jen would then return to his bowl of potatoes and begin mixing it with some flour to make some well-seasoned croquettes with the chicken as the filling. To accompany the croquettes, he made a sweet, spicy, and slightly tangy sauce to dip them which would be served in a communal bowl to add to their plates.

Hours later Jen would find himself rudely awakening to being face-first on the floor. His companion’s attempts to wake him up had succeeded. Perhaps a little too strongly. "What’s the matter? Ehh let’s just go.” Jen answered as he rubbed his head while standing up. It was clear that this was an urgent situation of some danger and really all he needed to know at the moment was who they were fighting and their current plan.

He followed Týfurkh and found himself in the company of the others. It was there they’d be greeted by one of the servants. She was one of those Nhatkelese like the ones they encountered in Shimmertown. He wondered what connection she might have with other Natjier and why she considered killing them. So another fair-weather ally? Fine, whatever, let's get these bangles off and get out of here if this place is as swarmed with bad guys like you say.”

Hey there all. Haven’t been super active of late but I got the craving to do some rps again, and I’m looking to play with some fun and laid-back people to have fun with.

About Me

  • I’m an adult and I prefer to rp with other adults 21+ out of a general preference over actual mature content.
  • I can be pretty scatterbrained and have organization issues, which means sometimes I can be slow to make posts, but I will try most of the time to get posts done.
  • I enjoy OOC chatting both in terms of rp discussion as well as just generally chatting over whatever.
  • I prefer to do rps via DMs, although I can do Gdocs or even Discord.
  • Speaking of DMs, send me one if you wish to contact me.

RP info

  • I offer 2 paragraphs minimum and can go higher depending on the situation and if I’m really in the groove I can get pretty detailed.
  • While I’m friendly to doing romances, it’s not a requirement. Additionally, my preference is to play the male lead role in MxF-type pairings.
  • For faceclaims, I don’t like using real people as it weirds me out.
  • Although I got a handful of plots below, I’m open to your rp pitches.

Fandoms and Misc

Sea of Thieves
Legend of Dragoon
Monster Hunter
Horizon Zero Dawn (haven't played the new game tho)

Genres & stuff I like:
Fantasy, but I don’t care for the more generic D&D-type flavor
Pseudo-Wuxia or Supernatural martial arts type thing
Mecha

Stuff I’m not interested in:
Playing as canon characters
Marvel
Horror
Mundane settings & scenarios

Some Plots

Ghent kneeled, there perched on the rooftop waiting for their quarry. The smell from below made him wrinkle his nose, but it did not distract him from paying attention to any movement or sound of something arriving. A sound could be heard and he watched Afira step forth with a torch. Something would emerge from the darkness, was that Toltan? He was significantly worse for wear than he had imagined. The disfigurement was beyond the missing limb, there were these grotesque lumps. He looked severely ill, and he could scarcely imagine what ill fortune befell the poor bastard. He didn’t seem particularly lucid given his response to being arrested.

When Toltan’s demeanor shifted to resentful anger, he was readying to intervene should it escalate. And then it did. Just not in the way he was expecting. Now the trajectory shifted from restraining or incapacitating a deranged man to having to kill whatever the hell he just turned into. Like a bird of prey attacking prey, he too dove into the monster, doing a modified sharkfang lunge. Where the first attack from the jump was a feint, and the second was the true attack.
"One concern I have is if it's smarter than your usual forest beast. An animal desperate enough to start preying on humans is one thing, but if it's a clever monster than we have an issue. I think we should also try and minimize its chance to escape or at the very least make escaping as slow as possible. Traps and perhaps some obstacles to control the movement of our target would be useful to set-up." Ghent said to the team. He was expecting this to be a bloody fight, where they end up having to chase this thing through the woods. Not exactly the most optimistic view, but he just felt that this wouldn't be an easy fight either.
Jen hadn’t bothered to wash; his clothing was far dirtier than the others and he had no extra pair. Washing only to use these rags would be a pointless affair, and so he didn’t. Perhaps there was a complimentary change of clothes provided mentioned by one of the servants, but he couldn’t recall it. He’d mosey on over to the dining room to meet the others. Just then, Sil would fling some mashed potatoes at him and as if on reflex, Jen would catch the errant food in his mouth. He’d watch Sil make a mess and make a disappointed look as he swallowed the potatoes. It was wrong, all wrong!

He knew that other nations and their cuisine weren’t as developed as his home nation, but this was dire. Making some half-decent mashed potatoes wasn’t that hard, but somehow this succeeded in failing an easy task. They were lumpy, but not in a good way, absolutely bland, and a little watery. He’d look at the others and their reactions to the food. It seemed nobody was enjoying the meal. He’d take a piece of the unimpressive-looking roast, and tasting it only confirmed just how bad it was.

“Sense and seasonings… I know your cuisine lacks compared to ours, but this is awful.” He’d say aloud. He was already half-annoyed by just being in this place, but this food was apparently the last straw. As a proud member of the Nation of Taste, this food insulted him. It was perhaps one of the few instances the others would see him become both visibly irritated and impassioned. “You there,” he said looking at the servant, “Show me where the kitchen is; I want to tell the chef what I’m going to tell you. This food wastes and dishonors the ingredients. Not just the animals who took time to rear and whose lives were sacrificed, but also the vegetables that took months to tend and grow. Now show me the kitchen or I’ll find it myself. Either way, I’m going to make a replacement dinner to cover up for this travesty, and maybe your chef might learn a thing or five.”

Having said that he’d pick up the bowl of mashed potatoes. “And I’ll be taking this. I doubt anything else in this banquet could be saved. When I return at least the potatoes will be worth eating.” Servant be damned, this dinner was trash, and he was already set to do better. The first order would be to touch up the potatoes, and then figure out what the hell to throw together for a quick enough dinner.
Ghent would follow the young woman inside. It was already too late to say, “No thanks” and he’d take the tea politely, but it was clear he was not terribly interested in drinking the beverage. “Ahh, so you’ve been living in Faron? Been living there as well. Although I’ve only been living there not too long ago.” He said as he took a polite sip. “Anyway, I got a handful of questions I’d like to ask. The first being if you knew anything about Eidan or saw anything weird during the day of his disappearance. Then following that, if you know anything about the prior disappearances. Finally, who’s this Toltan guy? The other family brought it up that you’ve been speaking with him.”
“Well, that was disappointing. I figured it would be useful to ask if there are any common threads between all these deaths. Well, time to go find the chief’s daughter. Somehow I feel like that guy they think is suspicious is gonna be a waste of time and not important to our mission. But we might as well ask about him.” Ghent would say to Nareck as they approached the Chief’s house.

He stood aside as the Goron knocked on the door waiting for it to open. He already had his canned opening statement ready: “Good morning miss, we’re here to investigate the murders and came here to ask you a couple of questions.”
Ghent found himself using his spear as a sort of cane to lean on while Nareck and the widow spoke. It seemed unlikely that anyone in the village would have murdered the fellow. However, the widow did produce the name of someone who would be of interest. And their best source of information on it would be their next witness. He wondered how the other two were doing, poking around at that abandoned lumber mill. “Ma’am, before we go, I got two more questions I’d like to ask if you’re able to answer them for us. What time of day did your husband leave to get this wood, and would you be able to tell us about the circumstances of the other previous deaths?”
