I recommend checking out the aricles and guide section for roleplaying tips and check each RP section for the rules and standards that should be stickied near the top.

There actually is a tabletop RP section, but if you were looking for something that's play by post and not stat driven, I'd recommend checking out Casual as a good place to start your roleplay search. A great way to get an idea of how games work around here is to open a thread that looks neat or successful and start reading it. Of course, if you have any other questions myself and most other people will be happy to point you the right way!
