Poor Lexi couldn’t help but cry; it was a contradiction of massive proportions. If he could help save Harry that was one thing but if they used the DNA they’d get from the blood sample to figure out it was Peter Parker, nothing but bad things would come from it. But… it wasn’t her decision to make. Her gaze opened, teary and sad as she looked up at Peter when he placed his hands on her cheeks. A sniffle left her nose of sadness and when he said that he wouldn’t let people experiment on him or take and/or hurt her, giving that ever-cheeky Peter Parker guarantee she gave him a small closed mouth smile across her full lips. When he wrapped his arms around her, she returned it; laying her head gently onto his shoulder. He was such a tough guy, being Spider-Man and all. It’s not fair he has to go through everything alone. If she could change something, anything it wouldn’t be who he was, what he did or that he got his powers; she would change it so he wouldn’t have to do everything alone. Sure that would put someone else in just as much danger but it would lessen the chance of him or the other person getting hurt. Sometimes teamwork could be the best thing and if she could help, she would and in any way possible. Even if it means climbing onto another glider. The night was quiet and kind of sad, the exchanges between Peter and Lexi questioning whether they should tell Aunt May about the situation with Harry. Peter was nice enough to walk her home and she urged him to call Mister Osborne tomorrow before he left for school and ask how he could meet with the Doctor. After that and a small make out session in front of her house (come on, sadness + boyfriend + girlfriend can = passion, do the math; shut up it’s real math) she went inside knowing he was probably going to patrol the streets tonight, poor suckers that were out causing trouble would pick a night when Spider-Man probably had a lot of anger to get out. ------------ Friday rolled around and Lexi was in her room getting ready. When Peter called Mister Osborne, he was invited to a dinner party in honor of two things, The Osborne’s return to New York and the visiting of Doctor Octavius. Of course Peter was to bring a guest and who does he ask? No not Aunt May, though that would be cute; he invited Lexi and since she could drive but he couldn’t, she was taking her mother’s Jeep once again to go to the party. There would be valet parking, a full three course meal with menu choices and a live band with a dance floor. The party invitation that Peter was sent said the music would range from swing, to classic rock, to salsa, to tango, to waltz, to rap and of course, slow dance songs. These made Lexi laugh because she knew how to swing, salsa, tango, waltz and of course, slow dance. Between her need to be social and her want to control her clumsiness, she found that dancing lessons and karate (which she’s kicking butt [literally] in by the way) help improve her balance and make friends along the way. Peter, however, didn’t dance but she was curious to see if he would be able to follow her lead or predict her actions because of this new spidey-sense of his. It wasn’t long before she hugged her parents good bye and she left the house in her dress. Arriving at Peter’s house was nice, especially knowing that he would want to take pictures, something she wasn’t against as long as he was in a few of them. Surely he would be running around with his camera wanting to take photos of everything and everyone. Pulling down the visor, she checked her makeup and pulled her down hair to the front, she had curled it this time. Smiling to herself looking at her glossy pink lips, she closed the visor and opened the door to the jeep climbing out. Up the small footpath she went and up the stairs to the door where she gave a knock and waited. “Coming! Coming!” Aunt May called out as the old woman hurried to the door. Pulling it open, her jaw dropped seeing Lexi in her Navy blue dress with a red sash around her upper waist. An elegant diamond bracelet was around her wrist and matching earrings in her ears. Her nails painted a soft white and her shoes were red to match the sash. “You look radiant!” The old lady said with a squeal in her voice as she let Lexi inside. “Well I thought I’d pay tribute to Spider-Man by wearing his colors with the blue and red.” Lexi said with a twinkle in her eyes and a giggle in her voice as she stepped inside. “Oh where is that boy. Probably sleeping like the bear he is!” “I should have texted him saying I was on my way over; that might have helped get the bear moving and out of bed this Saturday evening.” The clock struck 5:30pm and even though the event started at 6pm, Lexi always made it a habit of being early to events. “I’ll go get him.” Aunt May said reassuringly as she started up the stairs towards Peter’s room.
