Hey everyone. Sorry for the absence. I recently quit my job so I've been busy trying to find employment again. I know I promised that I'd put up more stuff but I haven't been able to get into a good Rping mindset lately. I feel terrible about that since you guys deserve so much better from a GM. In any case, I'll try to post some updates in the next few days. I've had a few characters that I wanted to post, but it's been a bit difficult putting the finishing touches on them. @Archangel Your character is pretty interesting, and I think he'd fit really well with the others as far as storytelling goes. I know you and the others discussed the whole "killing inquisitors" thing and have agreed on changing it to him wounding them instead, but I still feel that him wounding inquisitors and still being allowed within the Church is a bit much. Basically, I'm trying to maintain a certain power structure within the world, and the inquisitors occupy a level on that power structure that's pretty high, so whenever one of them is killed, let alone, wounded, it should be treated with the necessary gravitas that it deserves. So yeah, I don't think your character wounding them, even if he does possess some secret power, and then being accepted by the Church would fit. They'd most likely proclaim you as some kind of horrible demon-possessed abomination and execute you for what you did. I do have another idea that could possible solve things though. What if your character was found by a group of Varyan soldiers instead? They wouldn't be the highest-level soldiers of the Varyan military but instead a group of blood-thirsty veterans who had a low-level priest with them to act as a healer or something. Your character kills the soldiers after they threaten him, save for one (their leader, who could pop up later on as an antagonist). Their leader is a vicious warrior who's seen quite a lot of battles, and he wounds your character somehow. He's about to kill you when the low-level priest, who recognizes the potential of your ability, interrupts and forbids him from finishing you off. The low-level priest heals your wounds and brings you to the Red Seminary, informing the masters that he's found a boy with untapped power. They then accept you and so the story continues. I think this would be a good compromise as it opens up quite a lot of possibilities for your character. You'd have a crazy soldier out there who remembers what you did to his men, and your character will also have a dark reputation among the military-- which could lead to some interesting interactions with the support brigade who are going to be joining us on the journey to El. What do you think?
