Take a look at Avery's character, Motya. Motya's proud and lives to his heritage without any sort of shame. I like the compromise, myself, makes for a very interesting plot. Kassandra likely wouldn't care whether he was Omestri or not. She would relate, as she still worhships as a Lanostran before she does a s a Varyan, but it's secret. However, she's also a cold-blooded Inquisitor at the same time. Most of our generation's Inquisitors will be more sentimental than those in the past, making the Church think it has gained an even better control, when in reality it's facing a rather volatile power in their passion. Kassandra isn't so much, but she's still slightly more human than others, not caring whether the Omestri are slaves. She doesn't care if there's oppression or unfairness, as the world has always been and will continue to be so. Good to have you aboard. Can't wait to see your stuff, LJ.
