The Supremes, while much smaller, are supposed to be a kind of anti-Equestrian. That way [u]the energy that is infinite and can be used by any of the central species and can only be controlled by that central species[/u] isn't all-powerful and can be used everywhere. They don't use magical energy, pure or not, they just cancel it out.
