Mithias shook his head and stood up abruptly, pounding a fist onto the table. "No! No, you can't do this. You sick bastard!" The fact that he may have been poisoned with some kind of vampire-specific toxin which had delayed, and virtually lethal affects, would not have stopped him from continuing to kill Jack. But the fact that Jack had given the order to initiate the nuclear holocaust upon his death... now that was a trump card. If it were only his own life he would lose, Mithias would have at least taken out this one, evil human, but that wasn't so. The vision of a dead world arose in his eyes and nearly brought him to tears. Roaring his frustration, Mithias tried to cut back his exertion of power. He couldn't let it happen. He couldn't kill Jack and allow Terebitha's BIOpilot to send the signal. If only the ship weren't so damn vast; Mithias would have turned his power onto the ship's core cpu's or the communications systems, but he had no idea where that was. It was over. It was over, and he was poisoned, trying desparately to turn back a surge of psychic rush that was growing out of control. But it was already too late. Martin had heard his brother's desparate call, and had answered with a level of power that not even he knew he was capable of. Mithias clenched his fists as he felt the surge hit him, amplifying his enigmatic vampiric ability to an unprecidented level. Flames started to flicker on objects close to him. He cried out as he struggled to contain it. His eyes were a fire, everything around him began to tremble and ignite. The very air next to him wavered the light that passed through it with currents of heat rising off his body. "This can't be!" Even Mithias' normally strong will was overwhemled. Martin had given everything he could, and the psychic energy was uncontainable. Mithais could feel his bother's consciousness with him, present, seeing through his eyes, as he channeled what power Martin gave. Finally, having no idea what was happening or how to control any of it, Mithias released the energy explosively with a shout. The room filled with fire as everything in it went alight. Jack spontaneously combusted, but in his last moments, as Martin was with Mithias in mind, Mithias was able to read some of Jack's thoughts. He learned where the communications system was located. Lights went out. alarms went off, and the window behind him broke partially, allowing smoke to escape and fresh night air to come in. Mithias grabbed onto the table in front of him to steady himself as the power finally returned to his control. He pulled the energy back into himself, holding onto it like a raging bull ready to break from a pen. Looking up, he could see the room charred in black and Jack merely a pile of ash and bones. Black smoke was still everywhere, but was fortunately being vented out through the air ducts and the break in the window. Some miniscule sprinkler system finally turned on. "The signal!" Mithias' eyes widened as he rememberd that he only had an instant to react to prevent BIOpilot from initiating procedure 27. Still filled with power and the mental presence of his vampire brother, he spun around to the direction of the computer he needed to disable. He reached a hand outward toward it, although it was some distance away and across rooms and walls. He didn't need to see it or be there, just as long as he knew where it was, he could concentrate his pyrokinesis energy directly on the location. Although supplied with it's own cooling system, the communications controls and unit was not as high a priority as Terebithia's "brain." Mithias focused. His heat knocked out the cooling system, melted the silicon boards and gold circuitry... Terebithia wouldn't be talking to anyone outside in the world for a while. Mithias leaned on the table, panting slightly from the exertion and fear. He felt light-headed, woosey. Only then did he remember that Jack spoke of a neurotoxin. He gasped. "I truly am poisoned!" He wished Martin could have helped him, but he felt the presence and power from his sibling begin to fade. He was stuck here, on this accursed airship, and he had torched the last of the chicken. Mithias tried to think. "BIOPilot!" He called out, wondering if Terebithia still had ears or knew what had happened. "I need the antidote to Stine's neurotoxin. Where is it?!"
