Continue.” Anderson lied. In fact, Anderson had very little interest in what Sterling had to say. In all the years that Anderson had been in charge of STRIKE, he had found Sterling to be an annoyance. He had seen him as nothing more than a pencil pusher who valued policy over people, and that sort of attitude was one that he could not abide. However, Sterling was damn good at his job, which was why the director hadn’t had him reassigned to Antarctica by now. “The fact of the matter is sir, that this Nightmare character has caused us quite a bit of trouble. Forgetting the carnage that he’s caused, he’s also responsible for our own activities coming to light.” Sterling continued. “I’m aware of what he’s done, Nathan.” Anderson snarled, his annoyance with the administrator threatening to boil over into something else altogether. “We will take care of Nightmare, once and for all.” “And how do you expect to do that Anderson, you’re efforts over the last half decade haven’t exactly been a glowing success.” Sterling prodded. “I’ve authorized Arthur’s insertion into the case. I’m sure that he will be able to bring this thing to a close quickly.” Anderson said. “And what if the Iron Knight isn’t enough?” Sterling continued. “Then we’ll deal with it.” Anderson snapped. “And just how do you plan to remove STRIKE from the public conscience?” Sterling asked. “I don’t.” “Excuse me?” Sterling asked, unable to keep the shock out of his voice. “Part of the problem with these super humans is that they didn’t know that we were out there. They’ve thought that they are the ones holding all the cards. Maybe it’s time for STRIKE to step out into the light, and show them exactly who we are.” Anderson said, a slim smile beginning to cross his face.
