- A mile or so away from the others - Steph looked across the street, it seemed clear and so she quickly ran to some more cover, making sure to stay low to not attract any unwanted attention. She clutched the pistol in her hand tightly as she glanced over the car she was hiding behind to find zombies slowly moving towards a small building, the windows seemed suitably barricaded. Just as she began to wonder what was attracting them, the main door to the shop she was observing swung open and a man yelled out in a war cry. A machete in his hand began to cleave the horde, it was a suicide mission but from where Steph watched the man seemed to have been locked in that small shop for awhile. The man seemed very determined and was purely running on adrenaline and fear. He looked rather ill as if he hadn’t eaten in a few days, something that was common these days. He had killed 4 maybe 5 when they seemed to get the better of him, he struggled out of one of their grips and stumbled a little backwards. To Steph’s dismay he was attracting the horde her way. Despite unimaginable odds the man was keeping away from the beasts, struggling when they grabbed him and eventually he had defeated the ten that had been gnashing at him. He was bloody and shaking and it wasn’t clear if he had been injured in the fray. After the smoke cleared Steph slowly stood up and calmly walked up to the man. “Oh thank god another human being!” The man said smiling as he panted heavily, his voice was raspy, as if he hadn’t talked in weeks. “Hey do you have any food I have been so hungry an..” BLAM! Stephs gun smoked as the new hole within the man’s head bled heavily. The man slumped to the ground. Steph wasn’t sure if he had been bitten or not within the fray... but she was better alone anyway and this man may have just been a drag on her resources. This was the new world, survival of the fittest at its finest. Steph looked down at the dead man, her eyes looking into his. This was who she was now, she had to do what she could to survive. She slowly began to walk the streets once again, cover to cover.
