The Vandros family has many companies under their name, the largest one being their import and exports. The second largest company is an electronics company with which Alexi has cornered the market on the electronic devices used to control slaves. His companies are the only producers of these devices, so you can see how it's a booming business with many factories all over the planet. He's always on the lookout for new companies trying to get set up and either crushes them, or buys them out. Since most slaves are controlled electronically in some way or another, he never really has to worry about the company tanking :P
