the book is small and leather bound without any title or outward marking aside from an odd symbol where the title would be, the paper appears to actually be vellum, animal skins gone through a process similar to paper which allows for easier writing. the hallway ends in a simple room with a statue of a crying maiden holding her dead child in the middle, an engraving on the plinth upon which it rests, if stefan were to go to read it, he'd find it to say "dedicated to all those that have fallen on their trial. the grandmaster wishes you luck young initiates." however there is no other exit save for the one he came through, but that one closes behind him as he enters
Stefan puts the book away for now, and goes to look at the statue. It makes him a bit sad to see it, and he hopes that his own mother will not have to go through the same thing depicted here. He missed her, and the rest of his family. Hopefully, he would somehow survive this and see them again. Looking at the plaque, he can just read it, though the word "initiates" is a bit unfamiliar to him. He decided that he should remember it for later. Without any way out, the young boy starts examining the room.
