Name: Chiba, Hoshi Age: 26 Nation of Origin: Japan Looks/desription: Standing close to 160cm (5'3'') and about 54kg (120lb) she's not the most physically intimidating person you'll ever see. Her deep green eyes and long jet black hair are contrasted by her porcelain complexion and articulated by her toned muscular figure. A picturesque woman indeed, if not for the mosaic of scars along her body that attest to her time in both the JSDF and the XCom Project. The most notable scar runs from just below her right eye diagonally to the right and almost reaches her jawline. Personality: Concise, both on and off the battlefield. She is honest and caring; the kind of person who always puts other people's needs ahead of her own. She empathizes with others easily and has a special place in her heart for Sigma. She thinks of them as her own family now since she lost what she had before. Hoshi is more than willing to put her life on the line for the sake of her new family and the rest of humanity. Class: Sniper Weapon: EXALT Laser Sniper Rifle (a trophy from her most challenging opponent), Plasma Pistol Armor/MEC suit: Ghost Armor Powers/Biotic Augments: Psi Mindfray Panic Mind Control Short Bio: Hoshi was an only child raised by her father who moved from one military base to another. She started training to become an officer of the JSDF (Japanese Self-Defense Force) in her early teens and did her best to make her father proud. She studied tactics, strategy, firearms, and the martial arts. She was looking at a promising career in the JSDF but fate had other plans. On a night like any other the aliens decided to hit her town. During the ensuing panic Hoshi and her father did their best to help others to safety but they were fighting against an enemy with superior technology and numbers. When Xcom finally arrived on the scene they found Hoshi backed into a corner holding her father's lifeless body surrounded by a number of dead Sectoids. The details of what exactly happened were unknown even to Hoshi who blacked out during the experience. Later, when research into Psionics had picked up, it was discovered that the Sectoids killed during Hoshi's first encounter died of aneurisms induced by increased levels of a strange substance in their brain chemistry similar to serotonin, the direct result of a Midfray attack. It is now believed that this traumatic event triggered her early development of psionic abilities. This event made her an obvious choice for Psi testing where she became one of the first Psionic Soldiers in the XCom Project.
