Steph awoke with a startle.
Smashing. Zombies. The door!
Was her thought process as she quickly sat up, grabbing her handgun beside her and firing into the darkness, towards the smashing noises.
Emptying her magazine and hoping whatever entered was dead.
She heard voices but couldn't make them out from the ringing in her ears.
