Sam nodded and took her hand as they walked along the river in the direction that would hopefully bring them to somewhere he recognized. The rain was light for a while, but it did eventually start to pick up a bit. Sam started to feel some of the cold creeping into his body, so he put an arm around Stevie and walked close alongside her to share at least some of their warmth. He started to grow more uncomfortable not just because of the rain, but also because of the simple fact that he did not have shoes. He wasn't used to walking barefoot outside, so the sticks and rocks he was stepping on caused them to grow sore. It wasn't a problem he would normally even think about, but it was getting harder for him to walk. Add to that the rain which was steadily growing in strength, and he seriously doubted that they would be able to make it back before having to stop. The good news was that he was starting to recognize the area they were in and, after a few more minutes, they spotted the bridge. "Well, it looks like you were right about the bridge, but...it's still going to take hours to get back to the car from here. The rain is starting to pick up, and I'm starting to feel cold. We could try to make it back to the car in the rain, or...you see that spot on the river bank where the bridge passes over it? It looks pretty dry there, we could try to wait out the storm there. I don't know, what do you think?" He asked.
