A mature and compassionate young man, he never fit in well with other teens from his neighborhood and frequently found himself spending time alone or with one of his family's dogs. At the age of 17, Corey enlisted in the United States Air Force as a Security Forces trooper both to pay for college and because military service was something of a tradition for the men in his family. A few years into his tour of duty, he cross trained into the Security Forces' K9 Division where he was assigned an explosives sniffing German Shepherd-Belgian Malinois mix named Magnus who became his close companion and pet from then on. After their training and with a few months of experience stateside under their belts, Corey and Magnus were deployed to Afghanistan and attached to a US Army unit, searching for IEDs and occasionally suicide bombers. They served for a year without issue until one day, during a routine search, Magnus sniffed out an IED inside a small building. As the pair and their Army escorts were evacuating the structure, the bomb detonated, leveling the building and seriously injuring Magnus, Corey and a young soldier whom Corey had befriended. Corey and Magnus spent the next month in the hospital while the soldier's injuries proved to be fatal. Afterwards, both the Airman and his K9 were diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and not long after, discharged from the Air Force. Corey was able to adopt Magnus afterwards as both a pet and a sort of therapy dog. Moving back to Aidensville, Corey found that he simply didn't fit in with the trivial and often insincere personalities around him, now more than ever. So he moved to neighboring Beyersville for a short time and became involved in underground street and knife fighting, unable to find a job elsewhere. Once he'd made a decent amount of money (and after coming close to losing one time too many) Corey moved back to Aidensville again. It wasn't long after his return home that Corey befriended a few other misfits like himself and essentially started the group now known as the Outcasts. Since then, he has become something of an older brother figure to the group and Magnus their mascot. _________________ Name: Magnus S393 Age: 3 (21 in dog years) Appearance: (see above dog) Nickname: Boy, The Dog, K9 Scars: Shrapnel wounds across torso, covered by his fur Tattoos: S393 tattooed on his ear Outfit: Occasionally wears a black dog vest with DO NOT PET printed across it Problem/Addiction: Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (yes, animals get it too) Background Type: N/A (the Veteran's K9) Biography: See above
