Hotaru sighed at his question pretending to dust off her staff. "Well lets just say if my father passed down the trait of foresight maybe I wouldn't of come to the city today." She said. "I mean it looked like a beautiful day today until everything went to hell... literally of course." She added. Then she figured that maybe he was talking about the sewers not the city itself and that made her look around the place. It did have a stench and the rats were not all that appealing as well. "Well this place is not on my most favorite place to be in right now but I had no choice. Besides, some of the survivors here were real nice to me despite the other townspeople." She added. "I figured I could repay them for their kindness by bringing them to safety. It's what my father would have enjoyed seeing me do." She smiled and looked to the boy. She decided to give the boy something to hold on to. She handed her staff to Jameson but only for a little while. "Hold this,..." She only hoped that he didn't sense the magic from it. For if he could he could feel her fathers magic and know that she herself isn't one hundred percent human. Of course if she knew he was of the were wolf variety then she would have known that he could have possibly smelled the demon blood on her. The blood she got from her father. She then crouched so that she was at the same height as him. What she did next was litteraly pull a black rose from the palm of her hand stem first. She then handed it to the boy. "This my young friend will protect you from the evil above us. They won't be able to use their god awful magic because this rose will deflect whatever they try on you." She said. The boy probably did not believe her but she was no doubt telling the truth. She then rose back up and grabbed back her staff. "Thank you." Hotaru could be blamed for being bit to nice sometimes. Her mother raised her that way and her father... well he did not exactly condone it either so he was just as much to blame. She knew the difference between good and evil though and this child and this man was safe from that path. She then looked to the harmonica and pointed to it. "Your pretty good with that... my mother loved music too. She was more of a violinist though. Father always enjoyed listening to her play." The talk of her family began to make her worried for them. Her father was strong and powerful though. He could protect mother,.... she hoped. This feeling quickly showed as her smile faded. "I just hope they are safe from the evils above... my father gave me this staff so he is quite powerful. I just hope he is powerful enough to defend our home from these monsters." -------------------------------------- Nova listened to the words spoken by Ishmael the paladin about her kin and the way they treated other people. She could not deny that her people did strong arm people for their heritage and not their deeds. You can be the most heroic drow elf in all of Kurn or the world for that matter , but her kin would still shoot you on sight unless you had a proper escort. She decided to help her ease and that of the man by voicing out loud what she said to her kin. She would reword it though. "Look everyone....Me and my kinsmen here have agreed that under these circumstances that we will vouch for you when we reach the gates to the city of my people." She wouldn't say that the reason was because Cassandra had a bit of value on her and so did the others. This was war and they all had a common enemy. The queen must see that.
