Sue
Phoebe Phoebe returned the hug, and then looked at her own food that she hadn't touched. She wasn't feeling that hungry but figured she had to eat no matter how much she didn't want to. "My sign language is pretty crap really. Sorry, I know it would be easier for you" Phoebe said to Sue.
Sue was patient, and taught Phoebe some of the basic gestures for certain keywords. Much like the alphabet, there were hand gestures for all 26 characters. However, you didn’t spell out the words in sign; there was a sign for each word or a combination of signs for more complex words. For now, she taught Phoebe the following: ”I”, “Me”, “You”, “Like” and “Don’t Like.” Then, Sue took out her phone and, with Phoebe’s permission, Bluetooth’d a diagram of the hand gestures for all the letters. She showed examples such as spelling out her own name, and spelling out Phoebe’s name. Sign language is a beautiful thing, but it can be arbitrary and sometimes the flow that would make sense normally doesn’t and so there were random jumps from one sign to another, but each sign was in and of itself semantically sound. She then wrote down on her notebook, ”I’ll quiz you tomorrow,” with a joking, sinister smile and glare followed by a giggle.
