Halimae-Current Headquarters of Iktomi’s organization. Halimae slammed the medic up against the wall with her forearm, her face inches away from his. “If there isn’t improvement by the end of the week you will be replaced, and your life will be forfeited. Do we have an understanding?” Her cold voice pressed against the medic’s ear as he nodded. “Good, now get back to work.” Pulling her arm off of his throat, Halimae walked away as the man began gasping for air. Exiting the room she leaned against the wall, a sigh parting her lips. “Goddamn it Iktomi, I am not ready for this. I am a follower, not a leader. This is your job, not mine. You better get back on your feet soon.” Her momentary reprieve is quickly destroyed as a voice crackles over her headset. “Miss there still hasn’t been any sighting of Arianna or the other boy. We have teams spread around the surrounding areas but none have spotted them. I will keep you informed if there are any changes.” Hali nodded to herself, finger resting on the headset preparing to change the frequency. “Yes thank you Randolph.” With a quick press the noise from Randolf’s headset faded, replaced with those coming from Leo’s. “Leo what is the status of the tunnels?” Leo’s dark chuckle echoed within Hali’s head before he replied. “You are adorable when you are in charge Hali, it really suits you. Perhaps it would be better if the boss didn’t wake up for a while.” Halimae’s face darkened at his words, her naturally cold voice taking an even icier tone. “Don’t you dare speak about the boss like that you worthless body snatcher. If he didn’t value your talents so much I would have slit your throat ages ago.” The mirth in Leo’s voice vanished as he replied. “Jeez, chill girl. I am just messing around, you know that I owe Iktomi almost as much as you do. Anyways we have finished the tunnels that we didn’t collapse when we evacuated the previous base. What are your orders?” Her body went rigid, before she forced herself to relax. Iktomi trusted her enough to make her his second in command. He must have believed she could handle it, though the more likely scenario is that he simply did not believe she would ever be needed. “Start expansion in the other direction, if you come across any buildings take them. If they have anyone residing there evict them. That is all.” Turning off her headset Halimae sighed, remaining against the wall.
