That's only a theory.
None of the devs have said that's what the story is, so it isn't cannon. People seem to believe that theories are truth, but unless the makers admit that's what it is, then it isn't that.

I know you're trying to think deeply, but AC wasn't a game that was meant to be thought deeply about. In the newest game, you get gifts for 'running errands' and you are only indebted when you by or upgrade your house.
