River Soon after the bloodshed had begun, and River picked up a gun, he felt his energy quickly leak out of the open wound in his side. Once the soldiers had been dispatched in the large, open room where he had fought alongside his classmates and Professor Torres, it was time to take care of his wound. River wasn’t quite out of this battle yet, and he didn’t plan to lay down and let that wound be the end of him. Agreeing to the help that was given, River clenched his teeth at the immense pain aching through his body once Torres removed the debris and cauterised the wound. River’s body tensed, his teeth and fists clenched at the battlefield aid he was granted. No time for a hospital bed to treat this wound. Luckily, no internal organs had been damaged. Well, there was no way to know for sure but he didn’t feel like he was falling apart on the inside and that was at least a plus. Once the wound had been closed, painfully, he’d notice how the hole wasn’t very big at all. How could so much blood come out of an opening that small? With little time to dwell, River had to get a move on. Everyone was either evacuating civilians or searching for each other and he had to do his part in looking for his friends. Once he was back in action, it was easier to move and the pain wasn’t enough to slow him down. Preparing the assault rifle, River started towards the doorway, seeing how black goo was enveloping the fallen soldiers. This was new. "The hell’s next…?” He thought, keeping his eyes open for an impending ambush. Sure as it was, a guard appeared and pulled a sidearm at River. The assault rifle was nowhere to be seen, he was wounded and had apparently been in a battle before approaching the young gunslinger. Hoping to spare at least one life, River released a bullet aimed at the man’s gun which effectively disarmed him but the battle didn’t end there. Given the rather short distance between the two, the guard charged forth and managed to tackle River to the floor. Pulling a knife from its sheath, the soldier attempted to impale the young man but quick enough with his reflexes, River managed to hold up his hands and grabbed the man’s forearm. “Just die, kid!” The man shouted, easily about the win the contest of strength, would it have continued. River moved his hand ever so slightly, just enough for the knife to come in contact with his skin. A duplicate appeared in his other hand and he quickly shoved it into the soldier’s throat and pushed him off. This was getting seriously heated, he needed to get his shit together and stop being so distracted. Unless he killed them, they’d kill him. No exceptions were about to come his way. Once up on his feet again, River continued down the hall, grabbed his rifle and searched for Luna who had been with him before. No wait, where was Alicia? Damn, the chaos was tearing everyone from place. After a short while, he located Alicia. Shit, was she dead!? Her body was nearly hidden, but after a short train of thought, River understood that Alicia had used her powers. Well, the best thing to do was to cover her until her mind found home again. River picked up his pace and sprinted over to Alicia’s body, kneeling down next to it and kept on guard with his rifle ready.
