Good day, everyone! Here comes an idea for a new RP I had in mind and discussed with my Co-GM, Red Savant. Given the great world of Warcraft franchise, wouldn't it be fun to explore it and play in it in an RP? Thus we got to planning and came up with a rather simple plot which should let us go all around and have a good diversity of characters. The timeline would be just before the start of the events in the Burning Legion expansion in World of Warcraft, where so many big players of the world are still alive and kicking. During a skirmish between the warriors of the Alliance and the Horde, on a corner of the pitched battle something interrupts the fight. An Orcish Shaman runs from a shadowy and fell foe, wounded to death when he runs into the battle, giving the warriors of both sides a look at the evil which pursues the man before he falls over among them. With his dying words, he bids the few warriors of both sides to take a peculiar medallion and go to some hidden ruins for the sake of all Azeroth. Evil is afoot, one who has tried for so long to engulf the entirety of Azeroth in death and destruction. Giving them a vision of what is to come, the man perishes and the group which were enemies but moments ago must band together and travel all through Azeroth, slipping through conflicts big and small, avoid the gaze of greater evils as they venture into long forgotten ruins to gather the means to stop an incoming threat. Players would be free to play any of the races or anything that is reasonable. You may take base on the classes available on the MMO or simply make up your character with whatever skills and equipment you desire as long as it fits the setting. The emphasis will be in interaction, exploration and growth as we travel and find long lost secrets. If you are interested then let me give you the character sheet to start making your character with. A few things to take into account. We shall be starting our game somewhere on the Eastern Kingdoms, it's been roughly 6 years since the end of Warcraft III: Wrath of the Lich King when Arthas crowned himself as the Lich King. A year before that, Archimonde was defeated when he attacked the World Tree and a year before that started the Plague of the Scourge and Thrall led the Orcs to Kalimdor. As for your characters, remember you may come from all walks of life and while you can stick to the classes in the MMO if they suit your needs, you can certainly ignore them and tailor your character to what you want to play. I'm thinking the characters are not complete novices to fighting or adventuring, or if you are, you are extremely talented, and more likely fall somewhere in the mid range of power. You're not a famous hero or one of the major names in any faction but you shouldn't be brushed off as just another warrior. Feel free to have few magical items to your name, Red Savant and I will try to gauge what is alright or too much as it comes up. Name:What are you called? Include aliases and titles. Gender: What gender do you have? Age:For how long have you lived? Race: What race do you belong to? Appearance:What do you look like and what do you wear? Personality: What do you act like? What do you think like? What do you believe in? Associations, Allies, Pets:What factions are you a member of? What allies, servants, connections do you have? What pets, minions, mount or the like do you have? Gear, Weapons and Belongings: What weapons, armor, gear and other possessions do you carry with you? If magical, what do they do? Skills, Abilities, Magic:What can you do? If you have special skills, attacks, abilities or spells do list them. Also list mundane skills, like cooking, athletics, scholarly knowledge and the like. Bio: What has your life been like that eventually drew you to this battlefield somewhere in the Eastern Kingdoms? Do note that the GMs will be using player characters as well and take part in the adventure. Red Savant will most likely use a Tauren Hunter and my own character, a human mage, lies below as an example. Do note that you don't need to be quite as extensive when building your character as I was.
Name: Selina Northall Gender: Female Age: 22 Race: Human Appearance: Basically this appearance, though wearing more conservative clothes in a long tunic, pants, brown boots and a cloak. Around her neck she wears a chain from which hangs the symbol of Dalaran and on her hands she wears a pair of long gloves with jewels encrusted on the back of the hand. Personality: Selina, like most mages, is a person of keen intellect, boundless curiosity and a scholarly attitude. She's bright and pleasant to be around, though she can be stubborn and a bit set in her ways. While she appreciates new knowledge and working onto it, the core of her beliefs are something she's quite reticent to change. She has a deep love for arcane magic and power, considering it an expression of her own person and an integral part of her being... and thus, she's quite defensive about the potentially corrupting properties of the same. However, she keeps an open mind and interest about other kinds of magic even if just from an scholarly point of view. Having been born of the city of Stratholme, where the valorous Silver Hand was founded, Selina has a deep respect and wonder for the Holy Light, indeed, in another life she may have followed a path under it. However, she bears a great hatred for undead and the plague which destroyed her homeland... specially the Lich King himself, Arthas Menetil who she once admired and looked up after. Associations, Allies, Pets: Mage of Dalaran: Selina is a proud citizen of Dalaran, servant of the Kirin Tor and thus allied to its organization of spell casters. She has a respectable home on the city. Human of the Alliance: As a Human and former citizen of Stratholme, she does have a natural inclination towards the Alliance and would likely be welcomed into their cities, however as a Dalaran mage she remains neutral in this new war. Indeed, a great many of her teachers and friends are High Elves who are being cast as enemies of Humanity given recent events. Nahris, the Iron Hawk: She additionally has a pet in the form of Nahris, an iron hawk which is her magical familiar, an animal bonded with her through an arcane link. While they can't yet speak in any tongue, they tend to understand one another. The silver feathered bird has Selina's personal mark inscribed upon its forehead and through it they are linked. Selina can use her magic to temporarily see through the eyes of the feathered raptor and communicate with it at a distance. She can also use a spell to summon him to her side. Gear, Weapons and Belongings: Seal of Dalaran: A magical artifact in the form of the necklace around her neck, upon which hangs the eye which is the symbol of the city of Dalaran and the Kirin-Tor. An amulet whose function is quite basic, yet essential for a mage, it naturally attracts arcane energies, allowing a magic user to more easily cast their spells using it and to replenish their stores of mana. It can also work as something of a battery storing a moderate amount of arcane power within it. Gloves of Magical Focus: A gift from her teacher when she began her travel outside of the city of Dalaran. These are a pair of gloves with magical gemstones attached to the back of the hand. These work by giving the mage a focus upon which to unleash their inner energies, providing greater power to their spells with a lesser amount of power expended. Protective Cloak: The brown cloak which Selina wears is her sole defensive means besides whatever evasion or defensive spells she may weave. It is in general enchanted to give protection from physical threats by mean of a magical field around the wearer which somewhat mitigates damage. However, the cloak itself can be reinforced with arcane power to temporarily improve its protective qualities and thus used as an impromptu shield. Additionally, unlike the rest of her gear, the cloak is not enchanted with normal, arcane magic. Instead it has engraved a rune for protection on the back, from which it draws its magical power. Selina's Endless Tome, Everink Feather and other books: Selina's own creation is a leather-bound book, inscribed with sigils whose main asset is the magic to both never run out of pages and the ability to hold as many pages as necessary at the same weight and size within it. Split by the way of some markers, the Tome works as both her personal magic tome, her journal, sketchbook, map book, notepad and the like. Attached to it, is an Everink feather which never runs out of ink. Additionally to this tome, for traveling she carries a book of universal arcane theory, a book of theory for arcane summoning and a book on linguistics and writing systems, both new and old. Miscellaneous: Selina carries a backpack on her travel, on which she keeps her books, a letter of identification from Dalaran, a bracelet from her home, a couple change of clothes, a bed roll, wax, a signet ring, a dagger, waterskin and some rope. Skills, Abilities, Magic: Arcane Magic: Selina is a trained mage of the city of Dalaran, a prodigy in the arcane arts fully educated in using spells to protect herself, attack her foes and go around her daily life. Evocations: The primary means of offense of a mage, as a wizard of Dalaran Selina is highly proficient at evocating both flames, ice and sheer arcane power to bear against her enemies. Summoning: Though not her specialty, Selina is quite capable of doing summoning rituals and has memorized a spell to bring into Azeroth an Earth Elemental to assist in battle. Enchanting: With enough materials, time and effort, Selina can enchant items to imbue magical properties upon them. Transformation: One of the mages most infamous skill, that of turning something into something else. Greatest feat of this kind is being capable of using the shape shift spell to temporarily turn an enemy into a harmless critter, though the bigger or more powerful the enemy, the harder it is for the spell to work and the less time it shall be effective. General Magic: Selina may use telekinesis to move with her magic things up to about 25 kilograms with ease, summon magical lights, conjure tasteless food and water, carve her magical mark upon something and other such spells. She may also attempt to use a Counter-spell against an enemy magic user and blink to move instantly a short distance away. Skills and Abilities: Additionally from her magical skills, Seline is an avid reader, with good at penmanship and painting. She knows the basics of cooking, though she's only just passable at it. She keeps her body fit to better house her mind and as an active and bright girl, it's not hard for her to find motivation to at least maintain herself in good shape. She knows the Common tongue as well as Thalassian, some Kalimag and is currently learning Darnassian. She has a keen mind and good memorization skills. Bio: Selina Northall was born and raised in the human Kingdom of Lordaeron, in its second greatest city of Stratholme. Her father ran one of the city refineries, placing the family in a good economic position to allow their young daughter to get an education from an early age. However, aside from her studies, Selina's life was as happy and carefree as any children's... running through the streets, bathing in the lake and sitting on the roofs to see the processions of the great Paladins of the Silver Hand, specially the esteemed hero Lord Uther and even on occasion the young Prince Arthas Menethil. Those were days full of childish joy, in a world protected by Light, good and heroes walking through the very streets on which the kids played their games. However, Selina's path would take a severe turn upon the visit of a family friend by the name of Leios Leafbloom. A high elf mage from Silverymoon, who studied upon the mage city of Dalaran, who befriended her father when he required his chemist expertise for a particular alchemical discovery. Through their work, the two worked out an unlikely friendship years before, and since the elf mage was passing through the human city he decided to stay with her family for a few days. During those days, he came to become interested in the 10 year old human girl for her cleverness, her impeccable record of studying and what he felt within... an untapped arcane potential. After a couple days of work, young Selina proved herself by mastering the small magical cantrips his elven teacher taught her... and in it, she fell in love with arcane magic and its wonders. A recently made master, Leios wished for an apprentice to instruct on manners arcane... however, unsure due to his lack of expertise as a teacher, he preferred to have a... test run, to call it something, with an apprentice whose life span will come and go much more quickly than the commitment that may be taking in a elven pupil. Thus, with some sweet talking and the promise and prestige of having a mage daughter, the Northall allowed their eldest daughter to part ways with them and be taken by the elven man to Dalaran. Her mother gave Selina a bracelet with the initials of her whole family, father, mother, little brother and the baby daughter her mother was pregnant with at the moment. It was a sad but hopeful parting... however, young Selina didn't have much time to be homesick as she soon had the singular honor to step with her teacher into elven lands, the breathe in the enchanted air of Quel'Thalas and see the natural wonder and magic of such a place. It was an experience that forever marked her and only renewed her desire to learn magic, as she stood over a hill and saw on the distance the beauty of Silvermoon and the majestic Sunwell on the distance. She never actually entered the city or came close to it, as they met up with a friend of Leios that hill, who cast for them the portal that would take them to Dalaran. And there, from one wondrous sight, she receive another. Selina fell in love with the mage city and was honored to be a part of it. She dug into her studies earnestly, with a fervent desire to learn that was rewarded by the beauty of magic. Among the high points of her career were watching the great Antonidas work his magic for the city and to attend a class given by Archmage Rhonin. However, Selina's life... like that of many, took a dark turn by the moment of the Scourge. To hear of the fate of her dear city of Stratholme, of the purge by Arthas, of the turning by Demons and then the subsequent taking over by the undead were a shock that stuck her very heart. At age 15 she was there when Arthas brought his undead to Dalaran, casting spells to desperately try to defend her new home. Needless to say, she failed and saw many of her friends fall that day... as well as Antonidas, one of her heroes. All by the hand of the blight that was Arthas Menethil, once her Prince and Hero who she saw from afar as a symbol of all that was wrong and evil in the world. She survived, as did many mages... barely, but they survived to see the great demon Archimonde destroy their beautiful city. Once the greatest darkness moved from their enchanted city, young Selina knowing both fear, sadness and hate like never before joined her fellow mages in fighting the undead within and rallied by the remains of the Kirin-Tor embarked upon a mission of reconstruction. Years passed of building anew what was once destroyed... but the mages of Dalaran did not let the demons destroy their spirits. Selina grew from a hopeful child, to a scared young mage into a strong wizard woman, one of the brightest of her generation. She embarks away from her city for the first time in a long time, on a short research journey to once again see what lies beyond the walls of the arcane city, not knowing that she would soon stumble upon something greater.
