As the sword hits the ice, Kholodny begins moving. There is no hesitation or thinking involved in his movement. Kholodny Zima grew up in the most intense part of the Russian tundra. Stribog raised him and kept him safe until he was able to walk on his own, but after that, the proud god would have no scion of his not be able to fend for himself. So for a five year old in the Russian Tundra, ice powers or not, one's gonna need to develop some serious survival instincts. When Khold's ice is broken, his body begins moving on its own, before he even thinks of it. This is a trait acquired from fighting more than his fair share of wolves and bears, who were more than able to break little Khold's thin walls of ice without really trying. As the cracks begin to spread through the ice, Kholodny's body drops to the right, his feet sliding out from underneath him. The momentum from the fall makes him slide a little on his platform, his head just barely staying hidden behind the bowl. Before he is able to think, he's now on his side. Coming back to his senses, he hears the shattering of ice as the sword shoots out above his head and into where his kidney would have been had he not moved. Shuddering to himself he mutters, "That would have been more than unpleasant." A small pillar of ice pushes him back up onto his feet as Tablurath lands, preparing himself for any following onslaught. As all of this is happening, Kholodny continues to collect energy in his forming weapon, the body of the spear becoming complete. The spear head takes on a harpoon shape, the prongs lengthening considerably. Between the head of the harpoon and the connecting shaft, wind energy begins to collect, forming a small sphere of power, growing stronger and more pressurized by the second. As Tablurath begins moving again, Kholodny spreads a fine wave of cold out over a 40 foot radius, ice slowly spreading out from the center of the circle where the ice man is. The intended purpose is not to damage his opponent, though if left untreated, it will be a little more than just an annoyance. The true purpose is to locate and put a bead on where the running man is, for as long as the threads of ice are touching him, Kholodny can pinpoint where he is, even if he loses sight. As the wave spreads, it will begin to create ice along the ground, in an attempt to try and slip up Tablurath, though its effectiveness Khold has no idea. He fully expects Tablurath to cut the energy. Its no big loss if he does, Kholodny has more than enough energy to spare at this point, the battle has barely begun. No, he's saving his power for when he knows he can get a better shot to hit him. He knows as well as anyone that in a battle like this, the first one to get a solid hit will be put at a huge advantage.
