So you said CO would be better huh? OK, challenge accepted ;-P Alexis WestAlexis stands 173 centimeters tall. While by no means physically weak, her frame seems rather skinny. She keeps her blond hair a few inches short of shoulder length, using it to partially cover the scar that starts close to her right eye and goes all the way below her ear. Her green eyes are always ticking checking out her surroundings and hardly ever still, only when she gives someone her trademark piercing gaze. She is not a fan of distinguishing herself from the rest of the crew and welcomed the uniform green jumpsuits worn on Earth ships, most of the time wearing one of those. Captain Commanding Officer EX-305 HMS Tempest 41 FemalePreviously a CO of a Trafalgar-class fleet submarine, Captain West is most capable of acting on her own without contact to higher ranks. Her record shows she is very good at utilizing the stealth capabilities of the submarine for precision strikes, a skill that was deemed very useful on a ship not primarily designed for combat. Taking a lesson from the US, the Royal Navy opted for a submarine skipper rather than a ship captain due to the three dimensional nature of combat in space.Alexis is fairly silent person, preferring not to speak at all unless there is something of value to be said. She's calm under pressure and believes that optimism is caused by lack of information, giving her an overall cold personality. In private life, she only keeps a handful of true friends. As far as work relationships go, she can be tough and expects only the best from the crew, but in return she always fights for them and gives them relative freedom in their jobs, counting on her staff to know what to do. Captain West is rather fond of coffee, Swiss chocolate and and Sci-Fi literature, although her interest in the last has somewhat dropped with her new assignment.A daughter of a Czech immigrant and English small company owner, Alexis' education options were limited by her family's financial situation. Her father died in a car crash in her early years, further adding to the need to support her family form early age. As such, she joined the BRNC at the age of 18 and graduated on the top of her class. Her first assignment was a ship, but her superiors quickly recognized her skills were better used below the surface. Alexis ascended through the ranks fairly quickly, but initially she was not nominated for command. However when she was forced to take command during a drill when her CO was incapacitated, she demonstrated enough skill and was given her own sub. She is single, never married.
You'll have to go on to explain the Submarine edge a bit more. It is VERY rare for a woman to be assigned to a Submarine. Typically they are male only roles simply due to the close quarter situations.
