He looked at her "Ohhh," He hadn't thought she read his past. He wondered if that was one of her powers. "But point is Torchwood wont do anything the Doctor would disaprove of, including harming you, or we'd face his rage."
The Doctor grinned and eats another peice of pizza. "Your still impossible Jack." He didn't like what had happened to JAck, but he couldn't change it. He tried to not be judgemental of him anymore, 
He was relaxing in his chair."The old Torchwood used to hate me and Queen Victoria founded the first and wanted to harm me if I got near, Suppose I shouldn't have angered her." He had an innocent grin on his face. "But also the old Torchwood would destroy an entire ship of aliens I just spared the lives of and let escape. But I wasn't thrilled Jack worked for Torchwood till I learnt they were different."

"Ah you have been married?" He asked. He was looking at her "I was a long time ago too." He wasn't sure if he would marry again. He found it hard to not get attached to people. He couldn't marry a time lord and most other creatures didn't live as long as his kind, Expect for maybe Seclusions race had a long lifespan too.
He knew he had fallen in love again in past, but was always scared to admit that and get involved only to be hard broken later.
He had struggled to admit his feelings for Rose because of that.
The Doctor knew he always ended up alone.
