Didn't know how to deal with the situation either, so I ended up reverting to my usual way of writing a character's reaction. It clashes with her original personality a bit, but it also rounds her out more and makes her more interesting to play.

As for Aya, she does seem to have extreme high and low moments as well as something a kin to delusions of some sort.
