A sad, angsty roleplay where everything goes wrong, the characters are heavy and disturbed. Also the setting: an abandoned area or a haunted house, maybe grungy, dark interior, or maybe even inspired by the twisted Wonderland. Something that just pushes you down to the ground. Does not necessarily have to include anything romantic. Have you per chance read Nick Cave's book "And the Ass Saw the Angel"? I was thinking something of this sort.
