I can take Tibet being broken off. But a second Japanese Empire somehow taking coastal provinces from them defeats the entire purpose I - and Evan - will need them for. Not to mention after an industrial revolution and historical hate and lessons learned of the Japanese the Chinese would put up a fight that would devastate the Japanese. They do not have the natural means to support an offensive army, or even maintain a significant fighting force anymore.
