Find an easy to use, point & click interface chat, that requires no downloads, and supports freely made user rooms.

Yahoo was all of that, until....late '98 or late '99 when they received one too many complaints about some of what went on in some other user rooms.

I searched for years for something similar to Yahoo, but never found it.
