Shayre held his head still, not moving as he tried to asses the situation. For some reason he didn't quite understand, the girl had made him rest his head on her lap, murmering something about it helping. How this was supposed to help him, he didn't know. Perhaps it was to stabilize his head? Part of him wanted to make a joke about his current position, but he realized that he didn't know the girl that well, and he was afraid an offcolored joke wouldn't fall well with her. Looking around him, he started feeling slightly uncomfortable. Something about the leaves, the sun, the sounds around him... It made him feel uneasy, and a part of him knew they shouldn't be there. Slowly he forced himself to sit up, keeping his head as still as possible. "We should get out of here... It's dangerous." He frowned, trying to think of a reason to give her beyond 'I get the creeps from ths place'. It was then that a bush with darkgreen leaves caught his attention. For some reason its veins gave off a tiny amount of light, not enough to iluminate things around it, but contrasting heavily with the otherwise dark leaves. The light wasn't what caught his attention however. There it was again, a light rustle in the leaves, like someone or something shifting its weight behind it. Shayre slowly raised his hands, not wanting to alert whatever was behind the bush, but getting ready to defend himself and the strange girl. Who was he kidding. If there was a dangerous animal behind there, there was not much he could do with his pounding head and empty hands. He gestured for the girl to get behind him. Then, with a soft voice that he made sure didn't sound threatening nor scared he started talking, hoping against all odds that it was simply another mysterious person. "Hey there... I know you are behind these bushes." He took one step forwards, at the same time getting closer to whatever it was and getting between it and the still nameless girl. "We won't harm you... Unless you are some murderous animal out to kill us." He nervously licked his lips, uncertain what to do next. He was about to tell the blonde girl to get away when he heard the scream of a person in pain. He cursed his luck. Was it a person getting attacked? Leaning on trees and bushes he made his way towards the source.
