Korea is under protection from North America I believe. 

And given the current state of politics in Taiwan between them and the PRC they're probably floating off to be an economically annexed province of greater China. Or at least that's what the Sunflower Movement claims would happen under the [url=https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cross-Strait_Service_Trade_Agreement]Cross Straights Trade Agreement[/url]. But that's just my guess on what would happen.
