In actuality, any sort of weapon is actually usable on vampires in most lore, it's just that people usually attribute their religion into this, and thus it has to be 'holy silver' due to the metal being deemed 'pure'. Stabby stabby, shooty shooty works on them all, wood-gold-iron-stone, so long as you do eventually cut off the head and burn all of the $#!t afterwards. Heck, there are even an array of herbs that are thought to be effective on vampires.[/s]

A bow is fine, I just thought a crossbow is more stylized to this sort of RP.
