Silver was always considered a catch all for both, as it wasn't just the material, as the 'pure' silver usually had to be blessed by a priest in order for it to be effective. Wolf's bane was not originally a poison, but a plant that attracted the werewolf...though the poisonous (even to humans) attribute of the plant probably got it listed as a poison to werewolves as well.[/s]
