(My character, Edward) is a quite shy and timid young man, with a nervous, albeit very friendly, disposition. He always seems to be afraid, though of what (Or, indeed who), he has never told anybody. He has been with his girlfriend for the last two years, and they are recently engaged to be married. She is a sweet, friendly and beautiful young woman, and it seems that her and Edward have the perfect relationship together. But they don't. Away from the eyes of friends and family, she is cruel and callous towards her boyfriend, verbally and physically abusing him, stealing from him and sleeping around with other men. She forced him into having sex with her, and manipulated him into beliving her deserved it. Though scared of her, he honestly believes she does it because she loves him, much like his parents used to say when they hurt him. (Y/C) is considered by many to be a "bad girl". (How "bad" is up to you.) OR (Y/C) is penfriends with Edward, and decides one night (You can pick why) to pay a surprise visit to the house he lives in with his "girlfriend". Either way.. Noting the door is unlocked, she allows herself inside.. Only to walk into Edward being beaten and attacked by his "girlfriend". Realising what's going on, she intervenes, and forces the abuser into an empty room, locking her in untill the police come. (Or they can fight, she can get Edward out, whatever.) And that's all I have set in concrete. We can create a plot together, to suit us both.
"And if anybody asks where you got the black eye?" The female's cold, callous voice cut through Edward's thoughts like a knife, causing the thin, frail male to flinch slightly. "I walked into a door." The male responded softly, his eyes gazing down at the floor. His entire body ached, as it did every night, from his head, down to his toes, everything seemed to either ache dully, or tense up with a stabbing pain. Though he knew it wasn't actually possible, if you were to ask him, he'd describe it as his entire body being engulfed in toothaches. Not that he'd let you know he was in pain. "And the gash?" Every damned night, it was the same. He'd be kicked around by his girlfriend for a while, as she screamed and shouted at him, demanding cash. If he didn't get it straight away, she'd steal it to fuel her habits. He wouldn't ever tell anyone about it, he was scared he'd been seen as "weak", "useless", a "wimp"... "I hit my head on the floor when I fell." Everything she saw him as, and more. Knowing he could no longer ignore the woman in front of him, his eyes travelled up her slim form to meet her face, which held a mixture of disgust, contempt, anger and delight. "Good. I'm going out now. You better clean your blood off the fucking floor. I've emptied your wallet, you won't need anything from it, will you?" The woman continued, glaring down at him, spitting at the male. "No." And with that, the woman left the apartment, slamming the door with a THUD, leaving the broken and battered Edward on the floor. The second she'd gone, the male stood with a slight struggle, head spinning. Dragging himself to the bathroom, he ended up vomiting into the toilet, before passing out from the head injury.
-Sam
