Oh, when you said small group, I assumed you were just implying the crew had helped before they departed. I misinterpreted that one. And, if that's the case, you can just say you were watching out for the crew. Maybe painting by yourself. *shrugs* Whatever idea comes to mind to edit it. 
Also, the random person who helped Carmen with the anchor, was that just a random townsperson?
