I wasn't aware of that myself, but the MiG-31, which is a development of the MiG-25 uses turbofan engines, specifically [url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aviadvigatel_D30-F6]these[/url], and I have no issues with a thrust-vectored version of those being used. The SU-47 used them as well, and it had thrust-vectoring, so it's been done before.
