Okay. Once I am back (have to fetch a few things and buy food ... which I probably won't enjoy too much since the apparently long-lasting lovely high-humidity 34C weather is back again after three somewhat cooler days) I will write a short addition to the post with the assumption that the guards/Thaler/Olan left the roof before Aemoten retreated back into the building and walked out. (As I read out, I've given the permission to assume as much; correct me if I am wrong.)

And yeah... On Gerald being an interesting character - I certainly agree. (If you recall, I supported going with Jillian finding Gerald for that exact reason.)
