Rafale speaks complete sense, I kind of support his statements. However the point of this RP is to give freedom of choice, I do believe.
I don't think we need to talk about this any more. The MiG-29 will be available later. There are plenty of aircraft of all manner of roles, specializations, origins and loadouts available. If you don't like any of them, or if you don't like that there's not whichever one is your favourite available, or if you disagree with me removing the MiG-29, then I'm sorry about that, but it's too bad. Don't play if it bothers you that much; plenty of other people are fine with it, and if you can't get over it, then you won't be missed. End of discussion on this subject, please.
A few questions: I assume that the PCs will stay/go on missions together from the start, right? Will the pilots be assigned a number in the squadron or will they just be referred to by their nicknames/callsigns? The GM posts first and everyone posts once until the GM posts again, thus starting a new "round". This is the system the RP will use, right?
1) Yes, that's the plan. The story will begin with us all meeting for our first briefing. 2) You'll have a number in the squadron, and your callsign/nickname will probably be used by the other pilots to refer to you in an informal manner (as you'd expect) 3) I'm REALLY not fond of a set posting order, but in a rough way that's correct: I'll post to set up a 'scene' for everyone to react to, e.g. 'oh no, some bad guys', then everyone can react to that situation, then I'll post again resolving the situation and setting up the next part.
I hope there is a good balance of time on the base and on mission and anything else in between, be interesting following the lifes of these pilots outside there craft as well asin it :)
There will most assuredly be a balance between time spent interacting off-mission, and time spent in the thick of it. I feel that interacting and talking in character outside of the action is almost as important as the exciting blowing stuff up, as that's when you really get into your characters' background, and starting building up the interesting dynamics between people.
