It had been fifty years since the war between Demacia and Noxus, and many champions had grown too old to fight in the Fields of Justice. Valoran was now at peace for a few years, until a new evil grew. Vel'Koz, a Voidborn, had finally gained what he needed, knowledge to see through past and future. Not only that, but he also had a vision with his new found ability. In his vision, he saw a glimpse of worlds beyond Runeterra and even the Void. He went mad that day, and his lust for knowledge was out of control. The only one he accused of was the one who gave him this ability in the first place, Zilean. However, the Chronokeeper had a vision as well, an endless plane of destruction, everything being burned out and destroyed, only to forever be held in the mind of Vel'Koz. With the help of Malhazar and many other Voidborn, Vel'Koz declared war on the League and Zilean. Valoran, disgusted by the Void, waged conflict and battles on the Voidborn. Nations like Demacia, Ionia, and even Noxus, declared war on the Void. This Runewar was of the largest scale than ever seen, having two very different worlds collide to fight each other. Magic was largely used for this, such as traversing to the Void. The League, afraid of seeing more damage to Runeterra, made a deal with Vel'Koz. Vel'Koz would resolve his conflict through the games, instead of all out war. Vel'Koz, seeing the destruction of the surroundings in which he still must observe, agreed to this. However, he wanted the games to be of higher circumstances and more diverse Fields of Justice. So, many more battlefields were made, and the games were more diverse. Minions
Minions are longer as mindless as they were before, and now take orders from champions. A champion can command a squad of them, or even a whole army of them. Minions are also able to be upgraded by one of the three shops that are included for each team. Some minions can be upgraded into scouts, who will sneak closer into enemy lines and gain info on their planes. While other minions can become large behemoths to help push back other champions.
Shops
There are now three different shops for each team, each of them being very different. The first one is the Merchant, who sells various items to champions to help them fight. The next one is the Bounty Hunter, who sells various companions and minions to help your team. He can also upgrade minions into whatever he has for sale. The third one is the Loremaster, who can give your champions info for hidden shops in the jungles, or many other things that may be hidden around the Field of Justice, such as beasts that, if defeated, grant special effects, or items that lay hidden in the jungle. Shopping is more for roleplay than strategy here. It's hard to keep an exact balance of money, so the usual way I would have a champion buy something would be that he would go ask one of the shopkeepers what he can buy with the amount of gold he has. Then I(as the DM) will study your character's progress and post as the shopkeeper, telling your character what he/she/it can buy. You then can choose what you want, and so on and so forth.
Fields of Justice
What your champions are going to fight in is varied. And the usual "Destroy the Nexus" rule isn't always used. For instance, there can be one field in which you have to destroy a powerful plant-like monster in the middle, and who ever kills it first gains a special bonus to help attack the nexus. A more wild field would be something which, instead of destroying a nexus, had a capture the flag kind of mode. Events can also occur within a game, like nasty weather or beasts roaming at night.
What do you think? Sounds like a good system? My problem is the lore, which I am not liking very much for some reason. If you have any, give me ideas on what that can be. Don't worry, I'll give you credit.
